This looks promising! I hope the battle system is decent - it sounds like it will be kind of like Radiant Historia or something where you manipulate enemy positions to line them up for attacks, but it just has a single paragraph on it and no vids.

Possibly. Could also have been something that was going to be announced a month or two ago, but got delayed by Covid-19.

Either way, the game looks really freakin' good. More hyped for this than I am Ghost of Tsuhima, tbh. And I fucking love me some feudal japanese samurai. Wouldn't surprise me if they planned to shadow drop the announcement today because of that. Given the similar release windows and announcement of gameplay today for GoT.

At the very least, it shows it has an actual RPG battle system. It was starting to look like Paper Mario would turn into just another Mario 2D platformer.

That's why it's always funny when people say Nintendo doesn't have anything else for the rest of the year. They develop games without giving notice and sit on a ton of stuff, and can just release on a whim.

EDIT: Battle system looks like neither of the above. You have to line up enemies and it takes place in a circle? Can enemies advance on their place in the circle and are there ways to attack them from different positions?
