Paris Hilton arrested for cocaine possession a while ago, released pending court case

With her last major jail stint, involving DUI and probation violations, seemingly in her rearview mirror, it looks like Paris Hilton is in trouble again. This time the Hollywood socialite and star charged with cocaine possession. It all went down on the Vegas strip late Friday night where Hilton was hanging out with her nightclub mogul boyfriend, Cy Waits.

According to the arrest report, the couple was driving in Waits’ Cadillac Escalade when an officer pulled up next to them and smelled a strong odor of marijuana wafting from the SUV. Hilton and Waits were immediately pulled over. While Waits was arrested for driving under the influence, allegedly failing sobriety tests on the spot, Hilton asked to be taken inside the Wynn Hotel to avoid the cameras and the large crowd that was gathering. And in that moment of special celebrity treatment, Hilton found herself facing even more trouble.

While waiting safely inside the Wynn Hotel for a female officer to accompany her to a bathroom and her purse resting on a nearby table, Hilton told the male officer with her she needed to put on some lip balm. Yes, lip balm! When Hilton retrieves her purse and opens it, a bag of cocaine falls out in front of the cop. Also in the purse, Zig Zag “rolling” papers, $1,300 cash and credit cards, according to the police report. Hilton insisting all of those items do belong to her, but what she doesn’t claim belongs to her is the purse and the cocaine. That’s right, Hilton says she borrowed the purse from a friend and had no idea where the cocaine came from. Hilton is facing a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance and has been released on her own recognizance. Her arraignment is set for October 27 in Clark County District Court.

Not her first offense. Facing previous DUI charges and now in possession of cocaine and theres no doubt she'll get another slap on the wrist. All this celebrity treatment makes me sick. Anyone else would be sitting in jail right now.

If my father were a millionaire I wouldn't waste my time partying and doing drugs. I'd travel the world of some shit. What a waste.

Yeah, but i'd go somewhere awesome to do drugs, not places where I can get arrested/paparazzi'd.

She apparently wasn't even given a blood test either. So no doubt her lawyers will use that as a loophole to get her off...err to get her acquitted.

Well what if you sampled different drugs while you traveled the world?

EXACTLY.

These celebrities aren't thinking big enough. Rick James still sets the standard.

What is the problem? How much bail should she have to post for a simple possession charge? I don't think she is much of a flight risk, and even if she was, any normal bail amount wouldn't be any deterrent to someone of her means.

Are you suggesting that they should have held her without bail for nearly 2 months for a minor drug charge?

He's right it only takes about 80 days or so...and some of the places you're likely to visit are not that interesting. Drugs are the only way to pass the time...

I don't think this is a celebrity thing, its a justice system thing. Plenty of people get off on drug charges for various reasons. Overcrowding of jails, charges get reduced or pled down, ect... All the people walking around with 4 or 5 DUIs on their records sure as shit aren't rich or famous.

I just happen to disagree with the idea that the government has any place telling citizens what they can and cannot put into their own body.

All drugs should be legal.
I wish I was alive when doctors would prescribe heroin and cocaine to cure your ailments.
Diamorphine is heroin, it's still used in some hospitals.

Alright. I'll request it next time I'm bed ridden at a hospital.

I guess the pills aren't that much different.

Stop and think about what would happen to the drug trade if some of the recreational drugs were legalized. You could put them out of business. They would have no reason to exist.

I don't care about the cause. This scum is, willingly, financing brutal murderers around the world. If I wasn't against the death penalty, I would campaign for shooting in the spot for possession of Cocaine and harder drugs, until that stuff is legalized.

So hate on the people perpetuating it. You must blame everyone during Prohibition for Capone's murdering.

Maybe you should campaign for shooting the politicians responsible for this whole situation instead.
