Pathologic 3 Announced

Oh my fucking god I didn't expect this.

As someone who loves horror games, I don't think I can go through another Pathologic game. It's an anxiety inducing experience from beginning to end. Amazing piece of art I'd say, but I'm done lol.

So Pathologic 2 is a remake of Pathologic

Is Pathologic 3 a remake of Pathologic 2?
I think Pathologic 3 is still a remake of Pathologic 1 but the dev will again deny such a claim.
Remaking Pathologic 2 will require certain tech to evolve and mature.

These games are so unique that you'll inevitably get sucked in when this releases.

im so excited for this , we barely get games that really go deep with philosophical themes

games like soma and talos principle are game like these

Never played these. Have they aged well?

Also, if 2 is a remake, and I OK to just play that and not miss out much?

a very detailed review from steam to see if it fits your taste

A Hauntingly Beautiful Survival Experience

Pathologic 2 has swiftly climbed the ranks to become one of my all-time favorite games. From the moment you step into its eerie, mist-laden rural town, you're enveloped in an atmosphere that's both vividly alive and tinged with an otherworldly fantasy feel.

**Atmosphere and World-Building:**
The town itself is a character, teeming with a diverse array of inhabitants, each adding their unique flavor to this grim tapestry. Wandering through the grey, fog-draped streets is an experience in itself, where getting lost feels like part of the journey, enhancing the sense of a living, breathing world.

**Characters:**
The characters in Pathologic 2 are where the game truly shines. Notkin, Vlad, Grif, and many others are not just NPCs; they are complex, memorable individuals with stories that make you care about this doomed town. Each interaction feels meaningful, contributing to the overarching narrative.

**Gameplay:**
Gameplay in Pathologic 2 is intense and unforgiving, perfectly capturing the desperation of a plague-ridden dystopia. The freedom to explore and shape your character's path adds depth, allowing for a personalized experience where your decisions impact how others perceive and react to you. This lack of boundaries makes for a unique sandbox of survival and social dynamics.

**Story and Mechanics:**
While the main storyline might be linear, it's the urgency and the pacing that make every moment in the game feel critical. Time is a resource as precious as any in-game item, making you truly invest in the unfolding events. However, some might find character movement a bit stiff, and combat can be punishingly hard, but these are minor quibbles in an otherwise stellar experience.

**Visuals and Performance:**
The game's aesthetic contributes greatly to its atmosphere.

**Conclusion:**
Pathologic 2 isn't just a game; it's an experience—a survival narrative. Despite its minor flaws, the game delivers an unparalleled atmospheric adventure. I'm eagerly hoping for a continuation, as I'm not ready to leave this captivating world behind. For anyone willing to dive into a challenging, narrative-driven survival game with a unique setting, Pathologic 2 comes highly recommended.

I've not played the first one, but from what I've heard it has more depth than the remake. Pathologic 1 has 3 main characters you can choose and they go through different story beats; while the 2nd game has only one (the physician).

I think Pathologic 3 will feature another one of those three characters (the bachelor).

I'll give them a go and report back then. They've been on my list since forever anyway, so it's about time to get through it. Thankfully it's on console and runs smooth, from what I see.

This is one of those franchises that's always spoken to me yet I can't get into it...

Basically majoras mask on steroids but yeah I always give up after an hour and play something else, not sure why it doesn't grab me

no clue what this is, but its not woke (skinny lady with boobs) and its horror so count me in.
Is there a pathologic 1 and 2 and if so what systems? Also any good?

So Pathologic 2 is a remake of Pathologic

Is Pathologic 3 a remake of Pathologic 2?
Pathologic 3 is also a remake of pathologic

It just focuses on the bachelor instead of the haruspex

Pathologic 1 had haruspex, changeling and bachelor, pathologic 2 was just the haruspex review but much tighter and more focused

I'm pretty hyped tbh

Pathologic 2 is on sale for $7 on Steam. Sell me on it. Debating spending $20 on this and the stalker series so far. Both on sale.
It's awesome but stressful. The story is really good. You spend your time minmaxing dumpster diving and ripping off children in trade deals by trading beetles and marbles for vital medicine, bullets etc.

You also get to harvest people's organs and sell them in the black market if you want.

Lots of characters you like will die and it is relatively random. You are a medicine man in a plagued town.

Gotta say, 3 also being a remake makes me think maybe I should wait. Ha! Game sounds weird and interesting.
