Saw him perform live in an NYC comedy club many years ago. One of the funniest stand up acts I have ever seen in my life.

And from reading around, seems like the cat was just good at his craft, period.

YouTube recommended me his movie reviews today, i instantly clicked of course and was very surprised to see comments talk about his passing.

I've seen that clip dozens of times and that woman getting up and leaving after his barbershop comment still kills me. The last n*gger on earth starring Tom Hanks joke immortalized him.

His joke about how wayne Brady makes Bryan Gumble look like Malcolm x also gave us the legendary Wayne Brady skit so there is that too.

He was like Patrice, he didn't change what he was doing to pander to the audience. If the audience was great it was the best show you'd ever see. If they sucked, he'd just throw hand grenades and hope the bad people walked out.

He really didn't give a fuck what anyone though. (Which I do realize is kind of funny for someone who was famously closeted, but I guess that was more of a no one's business kind of thing)
