My nerves are frayed... I know ticket sales will probably be on sale at any time. Any predictions? Any funny stories about being prepared for ticket sales etc?

It'd be nice if they actually announced a time when they'd go on sale instead of just expecting people to refresh their page for weeks.

I think they've said that if they announced a time ahead of time, the site would be down before anyone got to buy anything. As it is it was struggling for PAX East last year.
Paxsite.com is still going to the East site. It's not happening this week.
Also, they gave advance warning for the first time with East this year, so there's a decent chance they'll give 24 hours notice for Prime as well.
Otherwise, your clues:
1.) Paxsite redirects to the Prime website, and the dates are changed to reflect this year
2.) The official PAX Twitter account comes back to life
3.) Khoo starts tweeting ominous things
PAX passes tend to go on sale on a Wednesday, so you can also keep that in mind.

Last year did they update their site to the current year before tickets went on sale? Or did it just happen on the day?

Whoa, nearly had a heart attack. I've added mobile notifications to the official pax prime twitter account so I'll know when they tweet.

Ditto, I have all my phone alerts set to loud volume and plugged into a speaker in case it starts while I'm sleeping lol. Good thing I'm not in a relationship or I would be pissing someone off royally lol.

Last few times I've flown out of Pearson to Seatac, it's ~550ish?
Also of note: if you are looking, PAXDev is actually available, and can be bundled with PAXPrime tickets. Something that I had pretty much bitched at them last year because they were selling Dev after all the Prime tickets were gone, making the trip a waste of time.
The site is always updated a few days ahead of time. See my post above for the canaries in the coal mine.
Closer to $650-$700 now since our dollar tanked.
As for Waterloo, I've never flown out of there. It's either cost prohibitive or the flight times are terrible(terrible layovers in Chicago, departure times that are ass etc).

Really? God damn.
Yeah, I expected as much, doesn't make much sense out of Waterloo for regional if your layover times are terrible. It's not that much savings out of pearson.
