PC Game Recording Software (Like FRAPS)

I'm glad Grandpa porked a Chinese Muslim
Are there any programs for recording whatever video is being displayed on your monitor, such as FRAPS does, but that are share or freeware? I know FRAPS has a free trial version, but it has a relatively low capture rate (FPS) and no sound.
