I just uninstalled Half-Life 2 because I could not play it and it sat on my hdd for way too long. So I clicked on the uninstall button, and the program went on and on for what, four hours? Half-Life 2 has got about a few dozen thousand files, and it's so gigantic that it made my PC sit down to it's knees. I think that's the longest, most painful uninstallation of a game I ever had. I was in such a shock when my PC was actually responding to my commands smoothly! :lol

What was your longest, most painful uninstalling of a PC Game?

I can't say longest uninstall, but waiting for FFXI to install from the CDs then check 10k+ files and download 10k+ files isn't a fun process.

I like Blizzard's uninstallations, it's done in five seconds! :lol

Can't remember which game it was (yes, this sort of ruins the whole post), but I remember uninstalling it cleared my whole Start Menu's Games folder. Bye bye, every shortcut I had.

That was a very slight rhetorical device.

The problem I know, I lack ram (only got 256 Megs), but Half-Life 2 is still one hell of an uninstall. :lol

Between FFXI's install and initial patching I had to wait probably 3+ hours. By far the longest.

Did you have a lot of custom content installed to HL2 & CS:S? I don't think I've had an uninstall take more than 5min.
