PC games should have a 'console graphics' preset

There's a few, but not that many. I remember Control being one of them.

Bunch of medium and custom there.

Even the option of Switch settings would be interesting. Many ports on that platform were lower than low (some low medium here and there), but would be useful on battery constrained devices.

My pride won't let me set it all to low, low, low, off off off etc. I don't want to watch df for it too. If I could just select a 'PS5 setting' this wouldn't even be a problem. Thoughts?
Console settings are not all low, they are a mix of highs and lows. They are closer to DF's "balanced" settings.

So i actually agree with this idea. My PC is marginally more powerful than a PS5 pro, which means the same level due to poorer optimizations. So a console level setting would be exactly what i need.

Why so you can gloat about how many FPS it runs at on PC?
Nope, just for peace of mind. This situation, which is one of the best parts of the console experience, can also be easily adapted to PC. Low settings can sometimes be unbearable(BF 6 was great though), but there's actually a sweet spot between low and mid that matches console quality. Channels like df sometimes share fine-tuned settings for this (and in some cases they even push certain values up to ultra). I just learned here that Sony does this, so it means it's doable.

The target should of course be the PS5 or Series X.

Now this thread might not have genuine people, but a bit off-topic: in case someone is interested, the Nvidia Geforce experience program is a pretty good choice to adjust your games settings to complement you PC specs. Admittedly was a long time I used it, but I do remember it pulling of the job for me.

"why doesnt my pc just act like a console"

I say the same shit when people demand a console game have more graphics settings. what you want is actually out there.
PC have have general presets like low, medium, high etc. Console setting would be just another one, the particular mix those devs chose for consoles.

I've often thought of this, but for different reasons. It would be fun to be able to quickly switch the graphics profile to PS5 or Series X just to see how my PC compares to the consoles. I want to know how many Switch 1's would have to be ducktaped together to equal the power of my gaming laptop.
