PC Speakers for use with Xbox, PS2, GC, Computer

I whinny my fervor lowly, for his length is not as great as those of the Hylian war stallions
I'm probably heading out to college soon, which means my theater i have setup just won't "fit" in any dorm or rental.

So i'm looking for a speaker 5.1 setup for a smaller room. It needs to have Optical input for use with PS2 and Xbox. I have a video switcher with optical input/output so thats not an issuie.

Right now i'm looking at

I once owned a set of Creative 4.1 speakers, I was happpy with them.

But before I spend that much I figured i'd get a second opinion.

Wow, $150 for those speakers?! Must be the connectivity that's so expensive, because the speakers are crap.

You may want consider getting something like the audigy 2 ZS platinum pro. I think it does what you're going for, but I'm too lazy to check:

You could then use the speakers you have in the meantime. Then, once you've got money, get some real computer speakers. At least some logitech Z5300s:

Or Klipsch 5.1 Ultras if your looking for awesomeness. The best you can get without going into seperate receivers:

The z680s are nice if you like bass and nothing else. Not very good highs or mids.

Hmm,
My motherboard has Optical in, so i've already tried that route
See This Link
The computer simply won't act as a decoder.

I'm not a big fan of bass, i'm more concerned about how nice they will sound. I don't want to spend more then 200.

:D :D :D

another vote for the z680. I just got a set and they are great. (I also have the Creative DTT3500). Creative is better for music, but the Z680 is much better for gaming/movies.
