PDA Suggestions?

I'm thinking about buying my wife a PDA for xmas. She's the professional type (not that kind) that I think would get a lot of use out of it. She currently juggles like 3 different planners. I want something that can handle her workload, but also have cool features like email and internet and such...possibly a phone, mp3 player and camera built in. I know these exist.

So of those of you that have PDAs, what do you suggest? I'm thinking around the $300 rage give or take. Specifically the Zire 72 or an iPac from HP.

Also about ISPs..who do I go through? What's the ballpark figure for how much internet access costs a month? Any sites that readily have this info?

Thanks in advance

You are not going to find something for that price, that has all that.

You can get a camera for that price, sure. But it is going to be a piece of shit palm.

You can get a smartphone for that price, but it is going to suck. Speed, memory.

If you want a planner replacement for her, do not get a smartphone (treo, blackberry, et al) because the screens are smaller than shit and they are just not too cool for entering info. Not to mention you look like a retard if your phone/pda has a big screen and is thus, big (Think NGage).

They all have email and internet. You can buy a camera add-on accessory for every single current model Pocket PC.

Do not get a palm.

With that said, Dell has their top of the line X30 hi 624mhz QVGA BT/Wifi/SD for only $270-300. They have new models coming out the end of this month, but the only real edge (in this price range) is the new ones will have CF. Dell makes kick ass PPCs.

HP's are good but they cost 50% more than Dell's on average.

awesome. I was nervous about Dell cause I know the PCs suck but if the PDAs are sweet that's cool too. I was really only thinking of the HP PDA because of the massive battery life 12 verses Zire's 4 hour.

I'll look into the Dell more. Are there other options for internet service other than T-Mobile?

I've got an X30 hi. I love it. X50 comming out soon with VGA and CF so maybe you should wait (Think it might have a marathon chip in it too but not sure).

$500 though, a bit much for what he wants to spend.

I'm going to get one with my tax refund, I can wait. Plus by that time they will have their typical massive rebates/coupons/etc to knock off 100 bucks.

so about the ISP options...is t-mobile my only option or are there others? I'm completely retarded in the ways of wireless (or bluetooth) when it doesn't concern my router.

Umm... I think almost all the cell carriers have data plans. I have verizon and I know they do. They only have one bluetooth phone though. (Moto V710) I recommend you go to Howardforums if you want to look stuff up on wireless web. (Verizon has a little work around for free wireless net (very slow) if you want to just check email and stuff for free... Check Howardforums.com for info on that if you want)

Lyte Edge

All I got for the Vernal Equinox was this stupid tag

If you're willing to spend another $100, you could get her a Treo 600 smartphone. It's got all the features of Palm OS5, plus since it's a cell phone, you get full web and e-mail access anywhere you go. Sprint, Verizon, and T-Mobile all carry the phone.
