Kinda cool

Reminds me of ReCore

They've conquered stairs, we're fucked now

I was actually much more impressed with the 4 legged bot walking up the rock wall and adjusting for all the minute variations on the fly. I can easily see these things being scary realistic and capable in another decade. If they can figure out a better option for power then that's half the battle right there.

I'm always frustrated watching them challenging the robots. Like damn dude just let him pick up the package, what did the robot ever do to you?

It's a good thing we don't program them feelings because they'd be real pissed at us for that.

They're all kind of cool, although I am reminded of the early Terminator prototypes from Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.

The dog one is ace. Looks like the kind of contraption they should be sending to explore other planets.

The one with the wheels is terrifying in it's mobility: it can move fast in plain terrain and if it finds obstacles it can't jump across like stairs it can just lock the wheels and climb them.

Holy shit they got a god damned wheelie bot! Haha they can start building real life transformers soon if this keeps up. Seriously though that was really impressive.

yeah, it isn't really THAT impressive. The basic tech (not that advanced though) already exists in segways since a decade

also real life transformers (in their original scales, I mean) are impossible due to physic laws(there are tons of factors which should be considered like weight, acceleration, velocity and especially momentum).
at least with the materials we have (on earth)

I just don't see the point in developing something like this. What is the potential benefit case to this for humanity as a whole? I think it's really impressive, but I just don't see the overall benefit right now.

Hockey stick guy is such a dick!

Seriously though, these robots are amazing. The only thing that saddens me is that a lot what goes into them is probably mostly thought off for military use.

Automation, search and rescue, scouting, military, etc

I think you took me a bit too seriously hah. I thought the Transformers comment was a dead give away.

Holy shit... That's cool as hell! The advancements they're making in robotics is seriously going to change the world. Also I can't wait until the day someone applies this to making Mecha.
