Day 1: Nintendo's Perrin Kaplan appears on CNBC. Game Boy Micro's release window unveiled!
Perrin Kaplan spoke around 1:10 PM EST today with CNBC's Bill Griffeth. She first showed off Nintendo's new Game Boy Micro. It became apparent how small it really is when she held it up. She confirmed a release for the GBM in late summer or early fall. Kaplan compared the Revolution to a Ferrari, both in power and the sleek form factor.
When pressed as to why Nintendo didn't show more on the Revolution at their press conference, she explained that Nintendo remains "...the last company to truly put games first..Nintendo will still stick to innovation. That's been our main focus and has rewarded us every time."
The reporter questioned her on the aging demographic and how that affects their current stable of franchises. Kaplan made it clear that she believes that these are lifelong franchises that grow with the gamers and that the "kiddie" stigma Nintendo holds is unfair.
