Um... couldn't they mean that the DS version just won't come out in PAL territory? Sony bought up the pro evo exclusivity earlier, with the exception of 4 they were all PS2 only. Even though there was a GC version in Japan.

Shame, a DS version could have been pretty cool. Any news on what the PSP version will be like? I'd like a handheld PES but if it's just a conversion of the PS2 one then I'm not sure if I'd want it

Winning Eleven is confirmed as being a DS online title.

Winning Eleven for DS has been announced, but I'm not sure it is in development yet. It won't be a regular Winning Eleven/Pro Evo game either. So as for Pro Evolution Soccer 5 for DS being canned, that's not true as it was never in development to begin with.

Er, what makes you say it won't be a regular WE? All we know is it's being handheld by the WE team and features an online component. Given that they announced the title as "World Soccer Winning Eleven series" I'd think it'll be a "real" WE...

I don't see why? Then wouldn't they have announced "World Soccer Winning Eleven Tactics series"? Besdies, Team WE could probably just plug in their old PS1 engine and tweak it up fine enough, Tactics would actually require a lot more work.

It's possible DS might get both the sim game and regular sports series though (like it is with Power Pro).
