That's more or less correct. There is no level up, you just gain more powers (not more powerful, just more choice) and have the hability to create more than one arsenal but that's it.Bravoexo said:hmm, let me recall...
You are sent to an area where there are enemies... (mission based)...then all around are spheres... which sphere you absorb determines a feature or attack you can use... absorb several in sequence you can different features or abilities... they may or may not respawn those spheres so it's a tactical element...
Now you are in an environment that have line of sight, so attacks can be used positively or negatively based on the area... (ie. hide behind something to defend instead of using an ability.... destroy an environment to impact an enemy...).... and you do all of this in 3rd person mode... you control the camera, or lock and unlock to an enemy w/ or without camera lock...
And behind the combat / mission mode, is a story of post war canon, w/ the lost memories cliche and try to remember what you did wrong in the before you got cryogenically slept life that makes your current life so riddled with enemies genre...
And you level up I guess....some small RPG elements thrown into the mix.
Felt the FMVs were realtime though...
Yep, it's very hard to explain how to play the game on a forum but once you have done the 10 minutes tutorial it's really natural and very different from anything else.Tain said:It's an amazing game.
Seriously, one of the best on the Xbox, and I haven't even played it on Live.
Tons of customization in the arsenals, plenty of variety in the skills, and it's actually pretty fast-paced.
I don't think the original character design has ever been shown. The first shots of the game (september 2003) already have the current design.Tain said:Are there any shots of the original character designs floating around?

I cannot agree with you more. It was already in freaking English. Just convert it to NTSC/US and bring the damn thing over here, but I guess it wasn't worth the effort. Now Majesco can laugh all the way to the bank. Hell, Majesco even picked up Psychonauts which Microsoft was stupid enough to drop as well. They are surely making a name for themselves.Lyte Edge said:I'm just going to go ahead and say it: Microsoft is STUPID for not having brought this game over to the States.![]()
And here's a cool clip of Xbox Live gameplay: http://xboxphreaker.com/phantomdustlive.wmv
Some of you just have no idea and are going to be this games' bitch after you try it.

There's 7 different maps total. 6 of which have 3 different variations each (Palace, Highway, Lane, Panorama, City, Refinery). The variations are mainly visual such as nightime, daytime, etc. but some of them have slight structural differences as well.Minotauro said:Wow, that video was awesome! Thanks for posting it.
I especially love how destructive the environment seems to be. Are there a bunch of different maps?
