Can You Imagine What SureAI Is Going To Do With Garfield?
Okay so the second season of Picard was really bad.

And then I got to the ending of the final episode of Picard season 2.

Q telling Picard that he, Q, will be dying alone already started it.

When Picard asked why all these decades of fucking with Picard, Q mentions every god has his favorites. He then whispered into Picard's ear and admitted that he cared for him all along.

Then the next shot outside where Q is about to bring everyone back to the original timeline. It was his one last act of power before he passes on.

Jean-Luc walks up swim slowly and gives him a huge hug.

I.... I fucking lost it.

Without a doubt the most emotional scene in Star Trek I have ever seen.

This final send off has made me really think especially in regards to a certain girl I love.

Sounds tacky and melodramatic. The original TNG television show didn't rely on such hamfisted dialogue.

Picard knew why Q was messing with him already. Beneath Q's snark there was a measure of sincerity, and Q had gone out of his way to help Picard multiple times - in Tapestry where he let Picard relive his youth to gain a new perspective on his life (with the bonus of surviving a fatal wound), and in All Good Things... where he let Picard show what humanity was capable of in the midst of a crisis (at least on paper; I appreciate what the episode's going for).

Obv. Q starts off as a badgering, skeptical judge but the finale of the show made it clear he'd become a cheerleader by the end. Having him disappear off the stage like he did was a great conclusion to his role in the series. It doesn't sound like his character was brought back for a good reason, but I admit I'm very jaded against new Trek.

And after many years of god awful new trek, to relief that SNW can put out acceptable episodes in between junk, hundreds of millions must have been spent.

And yet no DS9 HD.....

If they only want to make new, they should give the Orville team Star Trek.

The entire series, even S3, was terrible.
Series 1 was an old man going crying and begging everyone for help.
S2 had Q and some time travel fuckery and they blew their beans with some crap plot and half assed immigration plotline.
S3 was terrible. Half of it was some cat and mouse game that could have been resolved with 1 or 2 episodes.
Infact the entire plot of S3 was so light it could have easily been a 2 parter.

Season 1 had some scary moments... I liked it overall

Season 2... I agree with OP... The ending with Q left me feeling emotional

I LOVED season 3! It felt like TNG getting the DS9 treatment

Ever since multiple problems at the end of Season 1 were solved with a magic tool that does whatever you imagine, you knew these writers just didn't give a shit.
