Shoot, dodge and side-scroll your way through fluid-filled, techno-fuelled environments.

Explore a thoroughly re-invented genre as you battle your way through unique, retro stages.
Search for hidden Power Up items and upgrade your arsenal of weapons to retrofit your ship.
Hop into the local co-op mode to unleash massive mayhem on hordes of unsuspecting enemies.

Man, wish the big 3 would use their conference time more wisely. Tons more stuff for Sony especially to show off. Love PixelJunk.

Please give me Monsters 2 with extra Vita levels where I can upgrade the trees by touching them!

why didn't you show this shit Sony. Nah we had to watch 140 minutes of some garbage Move game, didn't we.

When I read sidescroller and then come in the thread and see that on the screen I'm not sure what to think. Like someone else said, looks like Shooter.

Yeah this is totally using Shooter assets. The ships are identical, along with a lot of the enemies. (Click that uk.playstation link for actual screens.)

But yeah, when I hear "sidescroller" I don't think SHMUP. Which is what this is.

Q-Games.... how are you growing stagnant already?
Eden was like this pinnacle of ambitious and artistic design choices, I thought really showed what the PixelJunk games were progressing onto as a series. But then Shooter was just like this straight forward game with all the minimalism but none of the creativity. A good game, I liked it, but I was ready to move on.
Dylan Cuthbert has no interest in working on StarFox again, but he's fine with doing and expansion and now what looks like a mod of this one little game?
Fine, I'll probably buy it. But I hope Q-Games has something more in store.

awesome, finally something I actually give a hoot about seeing at E3!
Also, why does gaf look all weird, oh wait no avatars :S

Footage!

Also, some info (not sure if it's been posted):

Should be 3 worlds x 3 levels apiece, plus a boss. The stages shown at this year's show will be from worlds 1 and 2 respectively, plus a boss level (the first boss). Game is lots of fun.

It was inspired by the secret level in PJ Shooter 2. The QA team kept fighting over who would get to play the level every time a new build was sent to them, so it was decided that a small standalone would be a good project.
