Announcing the download ranking for March 2024 on PlayStation®Store! We will introduce a total of five rankings for PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, PlayStation®VR2, PlayStation®VR, and free-to-play titles. We also have monthly rankings for the US/Canada, so please check them out as well.

In the PS5 ranking, the long-awaited latest series, Dragon's Dogma 2, ranks first. 2nd place goes to "Rise of the Ronin". Third place went to ``FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH.''

“Monster Hunter: World” ranks first on PS4. 2nd place goes to ``Minecraft.'' “Unicorn Overlord” came in third place.

That seems to be a Japanese chart, I believe, as the DD2 type of fantasy is popular in Japan, whereas it's not as much in China.

Even the dragon design itself in DD2 is derived from Western mythology rather than Eastern.

Japan and South Korea have culturally leaned more towards the West rather than the East. I'm not sure why, perhaps because they have been occupied by the US for the past 60-70 years

Some possible insight into why MHW has topped the PS4 download chart in Japan.

On the other hand, among the surprised reactions to the recently published PS Store download rankings, some Japanese users have suggested that famous VTubers may also be contributing to the Monster Hunter: World boom. Indeed, there have been several influential Hololive streamers who started playing Monster Hunter: World for the first time in the past month or two, such as Usada Pekora (2.48M subscribers), Houshou Marine (3.13M subscribers) and Sakura Miko (2.01 susbscribers).
