I played a few games this weekend, IEYTDand statik are great. 100% recommended.

Dick Wilde is competent but boring, not what I wanted at all. Rush of Blood is better and more fun.

Arizona Sunshine is a piece of shit, hs, how can some of you recommend this crap. Ugly, buggy, boring, expensive, absolutely terrible, avoid this POS. I genuinely feel ripped.
You got a Pro right?

Re: AS, Do you have a PRO? There's pretty severe graphical downgrades if you're on OG PS4. You generally won't see it recommended here without the "Must have Pro" stipulation.

Not sure how you didn't find Dick Wilde fun. But to each his own. Personally, I love it.

Man, Raw Data is a trip. I still feel like all the other characters have major design issues, either by themselves (Boss) or clashing against the design of the rest of the game being based on frenetic massive waves of enemies (Saija and Elder).

But Bishop, the dual guns Gun Fu man, holy shit. If you want a game that'll bring out your inner Gunslinger Dante and can't wait for Doom VFR, get Raw Data. You can even charge your guns! And the tracking remains solid throughout so you can just focus on going crazy on that stylish trigger action.

As MattAces said earlier in the thread, use the Walking mode and remember you can double-tap the Move button to teleport even in this mode. Being able to strafe and dodge while shooting shit makes the game much more comfortable to play.

As for my own recommendations, I recommend playing seated for comfort, but make sure you use a chair without arm rests as you'll need to reach for your gun holsters on the regular. Place the camera higher than your own head (in my experience, 2 to 3 heads higher than you is the best) and at a distance of between 1.5 and 2 meters as per Sony's own recommendations. Make sure your Moves stay within the picture frame with your arms extended up, down and to the sides and you're golden. I have pretty much zero issues like this even when shooting flying enemies at any angle.

What games did you pick up?

Driveclub VR
Mortal Blitz
Psychonauts
Sparc
Sneaky Bears
Starblood Arena
Statik
Starship Disco
Windlands
I Expect You To Die
Dick Wilde
Job Simulator
Holoball
Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes
Fated
Dexed
Smashbox Arena
Moonshot Galaxy

Spent less than $150, but that's still a lot of money. So many more games I have my eye on but trying to save money: RE7, Dirt Rally, Raw Data, Archangel, Arizona Sunshine, Eagle Flight, Superhypercube, Tiny Trax, Fantastic Contraption, etc. Hoping to pick some of these up during holiday sales, especially those first few there. I should note I have a regular PS4, but am hoping to get a Pro later in the holidays.

Seems crazy, but we're a family of five. And my kids and I particularly love video games. I like to get something for everyone. My younger ones had a blast tonight with Job Simulator.

Below are the games I picked up the last few months, mostly during the last big sale. Got my headset in the summer when it was $299. Unfortunately, we've been really busy, and I also hurt my neck last month (doing much better now). So haven't had much time to play any of these. Like I said, my backlog is huge now.

Farpoint + AIM
Superhot
Playstation VR Worlds
Until Dawn: Rush of Blood
Rigs
Batman
Battlezone
Carnival Games
Rez
Mervils
Tethered
Pixel Gear
Ace Banana
Super Stardust Ultra VR
Trackmania Turbo
Bound
Tumble VR
Volume
Race the Sun
Dying
Weeping Doll
Wayward Sky
Gnog
Playroom VR

Boss gets REALLY powerful after you've unlocked that 4 rounds ammo. You just spam grenade and fire. The final skill makes you invulnerable for a few second and unlimited punching. Using him without 4 rounds ammo is a challenge though.

As for Elder, he might be the weakest, split arrow helps a little but if you're facing giant robots, you're pretty much screwed.
Saija is very powerful after getting shadow blade and the ground slam skill, only disadvantage is you have to master movement and dual hand slashing.

For camera set up, my current set up (high camera pointing SLIGHTLY downward) works well when I'm shooting enemies on my level. The camera can easily identify three separate light. But when I'm aiming up, Move lights will overlap each other, so airborne enemies could be a problem. In this case, I will try to rotate my camera so I'm aiming at north east or north west.

Anybody willing to help me with those RIGS MP trophies sometimes in the near future? Online seems dead for the most part.

My problem with Boss is that using a two handed weapon with your arms floating in the air is janky as shit, especially when you need to reload after every shot. It'd be great if they added Aim support for Boss.

Yea, that was my initial assessment too.
Still fun regardless, provides the feeling of handling rifle with two hand like how PCVR has been doing it for many games. The weight, rotation and position are the problems, but yea, just something new on PSVR to shoot and reload.

Yeah, I know it's how PCVR does it but it's not an issue of tracking or anything like that. Just holding your hands in the air feels too fake, it doesn't feel good. The shotgun in Farpoint is exquisite, I'm sure Raw Data devs could figure out how to adapt Boss to use the Aim.

Great day tomorrow for us europeans, both Raw Data and Megaton Rainfall!

Looking forward to Raw Data, that is a must buy. I want Megaton Rainfall to be great but I'm a bit hesitant on it, doesn't seem to be a lot of new info on the game this close to launch, which is making me think it might not be as good as it looks. I'm hoping some reviews drop today and say it's worth it.

and i was shocked to see it's 1.2GB's only :D

that's not a lot of content so my suspicion that it's just a couple planets with randomly generated cities and random enemies without any plot is looking more likely.

anyways, for that price it is in the "VR Experience" territory so i have accepted it as it is.

It wouldn't bother me so much if the game is actually fun to play, that's what I need to know more than anything now.

Looked like there's a lot of repetition in models and fairly bland environments so that'll keep the size down a lot. No evidence of voice recordings also, which will keep it down. Doesn't look like it's going to have a lot of depth to the game from the trailer, but think it could be a fun short term game nonetheless.

Bought Ghostbusters for PSVR because it's currently on sale. It's just one tiny level that takes about 10 minutes to complete. What a sham.

While it only cost 3 bucks and change, I still feel cheated.

"Act 2 — Coming Soon"
What is soon? The game was released 7 months ago, and there still is no Act 2.

End of the Beginning (part of the 60+ 2018 games)
Non VR gameplay, seems a little too promising? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KkUyl1b96BE

This looks absolutely like the type of game where they promise a bunch of stuff and will never deliver something close to it. It will end up being super unoptimized and canceled for console. Still, weird to see this is part of the PS Blog list.
I mean, look at their YouTube Channel banner...

No way this comes to PSVR.

It seems you aren't able to change the AI difficulty though? Can you even change basic stuff like the number of laps and car of your opponent? Haven't seen that so far in videos.

You can select time of day, Auto/Manual.
Replay also available in VR.

Thought the same thing when I tired playing with Moves, and knew going in it had issues and wasnt super polished. But after playing most the campaign co op with a friend using Aims, and playing a bunch of the wave shooter, with 2 friends with AIM, it was a ton of fun. Also , we all played on Pros, Ive heard its significantly worse on OG PS4.

I have the Aim controller and bought AS during the sell; not feeling it either (and yeah, I'm on a Pro). For me, the only thing it has going for it is that it's in VR which a year in, isn't good enough for me to give a free pass anymore. The voice acting is so bad, too.

Huh :D i found it to be a ton of fun. Free locomotion and akimbo gunplay was great! Truely a John Woo zombie shooting adventure :D

Just have to accept the janky graphics like euro RPG's or Dark Souls physics :D

Doesn't seem like you can. I have watched a fair few now and haven't seen any of these options. Would have been nice to have the custom race options from arcade. The Ai looks really bad which is a shame, I was taking a note of the persons times who had been doing the videos and my own times on the same tracks from the demo were often five to ten seconds faster and they were absolutely smashing the AI. This was also my problem with DC in VR because I could lap them on legendary which I'd not done in the base game. Good that all car options are there though.

Raw Data animations. Is it me or do the animations of the robots and your hand clenching look like it's skipping frames? I'm playing this on a pro.

I just wanted to add to the praise for The Solus Project. I didn't like it at launch - I didn't like the Moves controls and wanted DS4, and it needed a Pro patch. But I have done a complete 180 since the patches. If you're on the fence, I would describe it as Tomb Raider on another planet in first person. The game has exploration, mystery, massive sprawling underground tombs, traps, puzzles, nature mixed with sci-fi. There's a survival aspect which you can turn off and make the game a strait-up adventure game. And the Moves control is a non-issue. You just point where you want to go and hold down the big Move button. Very easy. Walking through caves and tombs with skeletons and just a lit torch in VR is also pretty scary. It's now one of my top 10 PSVR games.

Just want to add my recommendation for Driveclub VR. I’d seen comments and even YT reviews say it was the worst VR racing game, especially from a visuals standpoint but I disagree.

Game is great, graphics are low res sure but very solid and lots going on. When you are flying around the tracks it is fine.

I’ve played a few racing games on my Oculus, the best being Dirt in VR but Driveclub is just so much better. Perfect setup to get your view and position inside the car, great controls, opponent vehicles look great and the whole thing is polished.

Not sure how GT Sport will compare (just one car opponent right?) but DC is well worth it, especially during the VR sale right now.

Does it handle well with a driving wheel+pad+shifter? (t300RS)

Can you platinum the game? Im afraid some online trophies are really hard to get due to lacking online community.

Driveclub is my favorite VR racer ATM. Although it begs for a Pro patch there is a lot going on for it. Multiple cars on the track, birds, butterflies, trash, and dust effects. It feels like driving in a earlier F&F movie. With a wheel it is next level, GT sport will be fun but wont be the same atmosphere.

Managed to try a couple of my sales purchases:
-Arizona Sunshine: It's okay. I like the environments and playing with the Aim its pretty good.
-Windlands: Holy fucking shit this is amazing. It's basically the Spider-Man VR I always wanted. Controls are good for a lack of an analog stick on the move (this could be a solution for Skyrim to have freeroam)
-Sparc: I like it! Very Tron inspired and has that AAA quality.
-I Expect you to Die: I'm surprised, it's good to far. Looks great visually.
-Statik: I played the demo and I really liked, first level down and I love it. Really have to pay attention to the details.

I'm very pleased with all my purchases, PSVR has definitely been worth it since Day 1, and I like that I have a crazy long back log now XD

Oh man and those PSVR fall games too...

Any recommendations on the scary game from "Hero Cade"? Dread Halls or what not?

That is the only game I've wanted to play on VR. Maybe when it drops to 50% or so.
