Pokémon Presents has been announced for February 27 at 6 AM PST

Black/White remake or already a new generation.

And for Christ sake make a decent game, not that catastrophe Scarlet/Violet. The most bugged game in franchise history.
Enjoy your rushed, bugged, ugly-looking and unfinished cross-gen G10 Pokémon in November 2026, bro.

Lol. Sun and Moon is, IMO, the worst mainline Pokémon game.

I love collecting my gym badges and then taking on the E4/champion. One of my highlights of the games.

Rowlet is an okay starter, but better than Chespin? I think not. The other two G7 starters aren't worth discussing.
Basic sun and moon were mid, but the ultra versions changed enough to be decent imo. I'd choose them over s/v and sw/sh anyway.

But honestly the change to 3d was kind of the fall for pokemon

B&W (and their sequels) were probably the last great mainline games.

X&Y was okay. Just super easy. I actually really liked the mega evolutions. Wish they kept that feature for longer.

I agree after that it went downhill.

Ok so i wasnt the only one. I had no issue with the change to exp share to help curb the grinding, but they definitely lowered the levels of gyms and trainers to make it even easier

I felt like i was fighting for my life at times in Black, so you could say they over-corrected

Though I did enjoy OR/AS, hands down my favorite remakes to date.

Don't forget they've drastically lowered the amount of Pokémon most npc trainers carry too. I don't remember any npc in Scarlet having more than like two Pokémon. They also made almost every single npc trainer battle outside of gyms basically optional.

I straight up do not like the open world shit they decided to make S/V. I thought it was cool at first, but then the farther I got into it the more I realized just how much of a downgrade going open world was.

The problem with Moon/Sun is the pacing. Was PKMN games got into those cutscenes bullshit and was super annoying.

But, is not a bugged game. Have content, Mega/Z-moves, Battle Tower, Gym Leaders and Elite Four still a thing and more important, have ALL PKMNS.

After Moon/Sun the franchise fall into a shit abyss. Even the Original Soundtrack was affect. I can't play current Pkmns game with Music ON. Is impossible. X/Y was so good with OST, I can't understand wtf happens with the soundtrack departament.

Yeah thats true too.

As for s/v, It mainly irked me that arceus gave us the ability to stealth catch pokemon and s/v immediately dropped it, like why? Also going open world definitely wasn't worth the drop in quality. Overall aside from the more linear games, I definitely preferred Arceus' area zones (ala monster hunter) rather than a full map, it worked better mechanically and with pacing

I really enjoyed Sun/Moon/US/UM (US/UM less so) and still go back to play them occasionally. I thought 8th gen was ehh, and was REALLY disappointed that the legendary Pokemon you can catch in the Scarlet/Violet expansion pass are shiny locked. The DS/3DS era of Pokemon was my favorite.

If they embraced the way Arceus did it, I'd be so excited. Legends Arceus was an absolute breath of fresh air and I really really enjoyed it.

Might be fake but this image is making rounds on Reddit. They haven't nailed the date for the showcase but thought to post it here

Fuuuuuck

Black/White is the series peak and we're getting this bullshit? The cool part of the old remakes was seeing the old games in the newer format. We seriously can't get over the shoulder Unova? Fuck man this really bums me out. Totally a believable GF move though

Although I wouldn't put it past GF, I'm sure this leak is fake. It has the wrong date for the direct.

I'm with you on B&W. It needs to be a proper remake or even a sequel in B&W 3. Just not the crap they shat out with the D&P remake.

Ah cool, I completely missed that date piece. It just sounds so plausible.

After being a pretty big fan for awhile I haven't played the new stuff after Sword & Shield. B&W remake could pull me back in but not like this. I'll hold onto hope for now

Worst take in history. The lack of gyms is one huge reason WHY Sun and Moon were great. EVERY other pokemon game has the same gym schtick. SM was a breath of fresh air. Also Rowlet exists so your opinion on the starters is wrong.
Gen 7 is easily one of the worst gens. The Z move gimmick was trash, a bunch of the designs were ass and getting rid of gyms for the kahuna nonsense was non sensical

Man the art style of D&P remake was so shit

Why oh why can't game freak just do an HD 2D ish game and fucking forget about the 3D bollocks they can't do it anyway.

Pokken Tournament 2 pls. Or a new Pokemon Stadium/Colliseum.

Pokemon peaked with Gold/Silver/Crystal.

If they must have yet another collect the badges Pokemon game I'd rather they just make one big game with every region in it.

Or even a game where you play as a Team Rocket Grunt instead of generic 10 year old that gets kicked out of their house.

Johto is a trash region with a definitive remake in 2010 and B/W were consistently shit on since their release but now suddenly everyone will be a fan.

I'm a Pokemon fan who despises the fanbase. Whatever they announce will no doubt be trash unless it's B3/W3 in the style of B2/W2 will be a return to form for the series.

I wanna like your post so hard but I can't because I love Johto. So fuck you (but you're right).

Hate the look of the remakes (Let's Go, BD & SP).

Should restart and contract them out to SE to do the remakes in the HD sprite style of Octopath Traveller. I'd rebuy gens 1 through to 5 in this style.

Suddenly everyone was a fan of Black and White.

I didn't care for it at first but now I kinda like it. It was the last "big" generation we got in terms of the amount of new Pokemon. Also introduced things like reusable TMs which was nice. BW2 introduced the feature where you're asked if you want to use another repel after one wears off.

This sound shitty enough to be true. Game Freak choosing ICLA again to do remakes is exactly a Game Freak move.

Fuck...

How can something that is already dead die?

Scarlet and Violet were the final nails in the coffin (for me at least). We will never get quality Pokemon games again sadly.

I don't like pokemon but you know those games sold more than any pokemon games ever, so definitely not dead.

Confirmed fake

Do they reveal games in these shows or other media? Since it's not a Direct.

Pokemon is the biggest entertainment brand in the world. Of course they will sell and I, an idiot, also bought the newest mainline entry.
But from a gameplay perspective GameFreak is just garbage and I hope more fans will come to that conclusion and vote with their wallets.

in my 40's i can say i have never played a pokemon game exept a breid stint on detective pikachu, what is the fanasnation with this series and how old are you currently playing pokmon? whats a good one to try out.

Mainline games are traditional JRPGs with turn based combat, you really think it's a toddlers only deal more than video games in general are? In your 40s you should have probably heard/embraced the famous quote by C. S. Lewis.

I never completed any but it's always nice to see traditional series like this (or Dragon Quest which I do get into at times) continue to be produced rather than all end up like DMC wannabes with no unique identity like Final Fantasy.

It's gotten even worse than that.
These fucks at GameFreak are not even able to release functional games anymore and the games look like they are running on a PlayStation 2.

I guess I've kinda forgotten just how much mobile shit Pokemon has these days....I miss the old days when Pokemon spin offs were full fledged games that still appeared on Nintendo consoles. Seems like it's all relegated to stupid mobile trash.

Lots of PS2 games are pretty sweet, more than modern games that look better even. Lots of traditional games nowadays don't take full advantage of crazy specs, like Square's HD-2D games or even Star Ocean The Second Story R. Just saying.

So, did they just reveal the name and stuff without showing the game at all or I missed it?

They pulled a Metroid Prime 4. While interesting they revealed essentially Pokemon Z/Legends 2 the whole presentation was a mobile centric thing. We pretty much got this.

Was hoping for a spinoff for 2024... and the mobile game stuff is not my cup of tea. I will say though that the Mobile card game could be a huge money maker depending on how its monetized (again a game not for me)

Expected nothing and got nothing. Not interested in the mobile offerings and the title at the end was too vague to come to any reasonable conclusion. Oh well,at least it was short so not a lot of time wasted.
