James "Whitey" Bulger, a notorious Boston gangster on the FBI's "Ten Most Wanted" list for his alleged role in 19 murders, has been captured near Los Angeles after living on the run for 16 years, authorities said Wednesday.

Bulger provided the Boston FBI with information on his gang's main rival, the New England Mob, in an era when bringing down the Mafia was one of the FBI's top national priorities.

But the Boston FBI office was sharply criticized when the extent of Bulger's alleged crimes and his cozy relationship with the FBI became public in the late 1990s.

Damn, I saw a commercial about a $2,000,000 reward for info leading to his arrest just the other day.

FBI's on a roll lately.

All respect to the FBI, local authorities and everyone trying to catch him...but at 81 years old I think its safe to say Whitey won at life. Whats next? He'll go to a prison and be dead in a few years? Yeah...he won.

Any chance they're going to kill Whitey?

There was a thing on Rachel Maddow just yesterday about the FBI putting out ads on The View asking for information on Whitey's girlfriend. I guess they worked.

Wonder if he was in the US the whole time or not.
Honestly I thought he was in Boston the entire time. I figured he was just chillin in Southie and nobody was saying anything lol

Random thought, does anyone know how long FBI usually waits/takes after a top 10 fugitive is caught/killed to update the 10 with a new person.
