Our neighbors for so long, of course our disease would spread. I'm guessing/hoping those were rubber rounds, but even still, that's goddamned scary.

Pfffftt... I thought we were talking with bullets. It was just a gas canister, right? She probably only had a couple of broken ribs, maybe some blown discs, a little internal bleeding. Nothing serious.

It is unbelievable. Also there was some debate as if the woman in the video was the one shot. It appears as if someone else was instead. You can see someone that doesnt seem to be the woman curled up on the ground.

What's your definition of serious? Death?

I would call less than 10 feet point-blank.
Point Blank means the shot was fired close enough that it did not change in height from when it was shot, to when it made contact. A large been bag would have likely quickly lost momentum, and sagged even at 10 feet away in my opinion.

Sorry no context and a 15 second video still doesn't guarantee a Toronto bash.

Flexible baton rounds are still full of lead shot, and they can be very damaging if they hit in the wrong place or at a close enough range. They're also meant to spread out in flight to minimize permanent damage while maintaining their stopping power.

I don't think she even gets hit. Looks like someone else on the floor and the lady at the start is one of the people running away. Kinda hard to tell cause that guys head gets in the way and the video ends too quickly to see if that's really her running away.

there's no way she got blown that far back. It's not like she got hit with a pickup truck's worth of inertia

seems fake and too coincidental that she disappears from view just as he shoots

I don't really give a shit. Toronto police are fantastic. There is a reason Toronto is one of the, if not the safest metro city in the entire world.

That too, her distance didn't seem to add up. I suppose maybe she coulda walked a bit and stumbled there but seems unlikely after being shot so close even if its just a bean bag.

Why did they fire the tear gas (?) anyway? The situation didn't seem all that precipitous, judging from the video.

He didn't seem to be shooting at her. He was shooting behind her.
Yup, he hit a person dressed in a black outfit about 20 feet behind the lady.

Probably gearing up to throw a bottle or rock or something. Lady in front was not hit. Probably needed to change her pants after though.

..Oh wait, she's a dirty hippy. nvm then probably wore those pants another week.

this is after he shot

Bad camera work. She never even left her feet.
