GALLUP — A Gallup homeowner awoke to find a stray dog with an arrow lodged through its head resting on her back porch.

[....]

Officers Romie Calderon and Edward Becenti cornered the Australian Shephard mix in the backyard of the 1925 Milda St. residence and lassoed it around the waist to transport it safely into a nearby van.

"There was no resistance at all," Calderon said of the dog who remained calm despite its injury. "It was functioning well and was conscious."

Cedar Animal Medical Center doctors determined the arrow lodged underneath muscle inside the dog's head and did not puncture its brain.

The dog is expected to require about a week to recuperate and will be available for adoption, if it is not claimed by an owner.

Balok said the Humane Society is offering an award of $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads the arrest and conviction of the individual who harmed the dog.

why would somebody bother PSing in a woman/tech into the picture when the obvious point of focus is the flippin ARROW stuck in the dog's head??

My wager: not photoshop'ed.

Don't try to cover up what you did to a poor dog by now claiming someone photoshopped the proof.

That's awful.

The pic does look PS'ed, but I think it's because there is such a strong light source coming from the right side mixed with the fluorescence lighting above. It looks to me like it was taken in the evening close to sunset. Look at the dude's hair, the woman's hair, the light shadows on the cabinets in the background, and the dog's coat. I'd bet it's legit.

Pretty damn harsh.. that dog must have a tough skull though judging by the impact tragectory. I'm sure someone in the local area will pick him up. I probably would.. :/

I hope whoever did this to the dog suffers I'd break the mutha fuckas spine personally in 26 spots.

Once someone was trying to train there pit how to fight and smashed its head a few times with a ballpein hammer. I of coarse being an animal lover fucked the kid up. This was in my late tean years I was with this kid Shaolin over at one of his peoples houses.
It was horrible how the dog actually screamed upon getting him. I threw that pricks skull against the wall several times. The funny thing is his mother came out crying cause that room was getting smashed up bad. I left thats the end of the story.

I hate people who harm animals.

hunting illegal animals man? well, it's against the law, ya see... I think that, morally speaking, it's kind of hard to speak up against shooting dogs with arrows if you don't find a problem with poaching as a whole. Ultimately it really is just animal cruelty.
