You're saying this as if any single Gaga puts out goes straight to the top of the charts.

Her lead single wont do MTN numbers especially since her last album wasn't a flop

can't say the same thing about Xtina
girl needs to promote but MTV aint having it

So far the performers for the night are One Direction and Alicia Keys. More will be added soon.

Hoping for a Xtina performance (perfect promo for new single!) and Rihanna as well, though Im not sure if the latter will happen. It would be cool given her double video of the year noms.

Maybe. But bless her for having her own show for that kind of promotion.

I would prefer Xtina never go back to any VMA show, unless they are giving her a life time achievement award.

ahhhh, cheers. That video then linked me to Tiffany Pollard (who I've also seen in gif form around these parts but had no idea who she was). I'm in tears.

New York (Tiffany Pollard) has given us four seasons of reality tv gold (plus some other stuff she did). You should educate yourself on her body of work.

It's no surprise she is from New York.

When have the other states from the US given us anything great?

I don't see why the PRESSEDT are bringing up Xtina in this.

People need to remember that this is the VIDEO Music Awards, and that the vast majority of categories are about the videos to these songs. "Moves Like Jagger" is a great song but the video is nothing special. Just them singing in front of a backdrop.

#BallonaBUDGET

"Payphone" is clearly the big deal VIDEO of this Maroon 5 era, so this is no Christina snub.

But what's the excuse for Gaga - who constantly brags about her "handwritten video treatments", extensive choreography, 7 minute running times, and general heavy-handedness? She always sets her videos up to be faux-media events and after ALL THAT she gets no noms?

Now THAT'S what a SNUB looks like.

Dalai Lana got two nominations? YAS. I know it is MTV but I'm glad she's getting recognition. WFL deserves all the awards too, tbh.

Adam is looking fiiiiiiiine.

SHORT ESSAY ALERT

Something to just DUMP HERE before I head to bed ;_;

Overall the mixtape sounds like what could be a new album sans the production needed to take it to a Born To Die level record. I don't really know how to feel about it. A lot of the songs seem to remind me of other songs on Born To Die. Is this album / mixtape recent or just a collection of demos? I can see the influeences if it's the latter.

The National Anthem included on the mixtape shows just how much Lana needs some kind of strong production behind her. She needs that soaring anthemic kind of sound to the song and without it, it really highlights how important her production is.

You Can Be The Boss is one of those songs where I see where she gets the idea of her being a "gangster styled Nancy Sinatra" from. This is one of those "gangster" track and interestingly enough not something we have a lot of on Born To Die. It does give me Diet Mountain Dew teas though.

I like the tune and melody behind Put The Radio On. It sounds like it's Western influenced with that strumming in the background, though the lyrics aren't that interesting tbh.

I liked the opening and subsequent transition into Kinda Outta Luck. It gave me cheesy Hawaii Five-Oh ish teas as well. I love her voice in general but this just doesn't feel like ANYTHING right now.

Goodbye Kiss actually reminds me of another song that I can't think of right now that I really enjoy. The way the chorus kind of builds up, but the track overall is a bit too country-esque for me.

Dangerous Girl reeks of AMERICANA but I like it. Especially the opening. Though it does sound rather amateurish. The marching band kind of backing track gives me Toy Soldier teas tbh.

Hate Gangsta Boy. I lIke how cruisy Heavy Hitter sounds but I am not sure if I enjoy it or not, it sounds quite boring and nothing-ish. Marilyn Monroe sounds great - a very poppy sounding song that with the right production could really slay. I love it.

On Our Way is a really boring track too, and sometimes her voices hits that pitch that is as tragic as that ICONIC performance of MILLION DOLLAR MAN.

Driving in Cars with Boys is a nice track and the way she sings in it reminds me of the bridge of Blue Jeans which is absolutely flawless. Here for DAT.

Never Let Me Go is nice but also nothing amazing or stellar as other tracks on Born To Die.

The beginning of Dayglo Reflection gives me heavy Final Fantasy teas, to be quite honest. It's bizarre but I really like it and her singing is very Carmen esque which was one of my favourite songs on Born To Die.

The Happiest Girl In The Whole USA is boring and terrible, thinking this might be an incomplete / poorly remastered demo or something.

The Man I Love is one of those tracks that takes me back to some kind of Jazz club in the early 50s, filled with cigarette smoke and dim lighting. I love how music can kind of take you somewhere. *.*

I didn't listen to Body Electric live as I would prefer to wait for the studio edition packed in with the Paradise Edition.

OMFG BODY ELECTRIC STUDIO VERSION NOW PLEasESSEES

Wow, nice impression. I agree with you.

It has some great new tunes but I want high production Lana. Can't wait for her BTD extention. Body Electric should be amazing.

And you forgot to bold Put the Radio on *.*

Spill that tea, Nem. Lana's production is her secret weapon. I do like National Anthem though.

My favorites are actually On Our Way and Kinda Outta Luck tbh. The latter has my favorite home made video. On Our Way just takes me to some nostalgic place ;__; can't help but love it.

I'm glad they included de HQ version of the superior version of Driving in Cars With Boys and not the plain version. I agree about The Happiest Girl In The Whole USA. Mess.

Heard Dark Side on the radio finally! I guess I understand how it's 'not a summer song' now, it didn't sound fitting wedged between Starships and Good Time. Shit better blow up in autumn though...
