Yesterday, I checked the Futureshop.ca site, and they had 43 copies of RE4, and 2 of the brick and mortar stores in Edmonton were sold out. Today, there is 13 copies, and 3 stores are sold out.

I'm hoping RE4 sells more like Devil May Cry and less like VJ2.
 
I went to Target yesterday and saw a few copies in the Gamecube section. One punk kid asked for a Mario game (paper mario?) and the clerk couldn't seem to find it so he instead suggested Mario Party. In my 15 minutes at Target, no one purchased a copy of RE4, so therefore, it is going to bomb.
 
was sold at at one ebworld in boston, and the other where i picked it up had 3 copies left - this was on wed. Mercanaries for xbox was sold at both locations - plenty of ps2 ones though
 
It's sold out of all Best Buys and Fry's in the L.A. area, at least the ones I've checked. I think it's going to be one of the best-selling GameCube games in a while.

I am happy if it does 300K in January. I seriously doubt that though. One can hope ;)
 
it'll do over 300k for sure...its sold out everywhere in my samll little town, I picked up the last copy anywhere in town on thursday night. Shit even the hot blonde working at target who got the game out of the case was asking about the game.

Well, when I went to get my preorder at EB, they said they only had one more left for ppl who didnt preorder, they said they got 50 in...

That was launch day so...
 
In Richmond Hill, Ontario I went yesterday to get RE4 from Futureshop and it was sold out, then I went to Zellers which was also sold out. Finally I found a copy at EB which had about 20 copies left.
 
Plenty of copies at the Best Buy in White Marsh, MD....but then again that store has NEVER pushed anything on the Cube. They've got big screens hooked up with multiple Xboxes and PS2s but no GCs. The GC section has two small tvs in it (as do the PS2 and Xbox sections) and all they have set up are some GBA Players and NES classics. You wouldn't even know the game existed if you walked into the store.
 
I walked into a Game Crazy on a Wednesday and picked up a copy no problem.
I don't see this selling as well as the Ps2 version will.

Isnt that what people said about Sonic Adventure 2, Soul Calibur 2, and Viewtiful Joe?
 
EBgames.com reports 3 locations with the game in stock
Gamestop.com reports 3 of 4 locations with the game in stock, 3 locations stocking 4+ units
Bestbuy.com reports 3 of the 6 closest locations sold out. The online site has it backordered as well

And Fry's is sold out everywhere, which isn't a surprise since the game is $39.99
 
Well, my best buy got their shipment in here on thursday. I would have gotten it at another store on tuesday or wednesday, but I had about $45 worth of best buy gift cards to kill. So, I gave them to my mother, and gave her an extra 10 bucks to cover the remaining expenses. She went to the Best Buy on Thursday at 1:00, went to the GC section. There were two copies remaining of RE4. A man there grabbed one, and she grabbed the other.

Best Buy had received their shipment of 50 at 11:00, just two hours earlier. O_o
 
The bestbuy that I work at had 2 left as of a few minutes ago. We got like 20 since we are a smaller store but all stores around us in Michigan have sold out or have single digit copies left.
 
Capcom had a pretty conservative shipment I believe. Does anyone have / remember those numbers? I believe they shipped less than RE 0.
 
I called several local stores earlier today and none had it in stock...although I'm not sure if they've even recieved it.
 
of the four import places in aki, all were totally sold out.

Actually, the copy i got was hidden behind the new Metroid...

i should have hung around to see if any one came back to collect their hidden booty!
 
my store sold all reserved special edition copies. Usually there is some one who doesn't pick up a game.

Us importers are getting ripped if thats the price.
 
Future Shop was sold out today, and it would have been on sale for 49.99 (CDN). I went to EB and they had a bunch behind the glass, but I coudl tell that they were doing well. The clerk said "Say goodbye to your social life. The game is great."

And it was the first time I was ever carded for a video game (but then I had to get my stepdad. Four months and I'm in the clear!)
 
when i picked up my copy, there was some guy there trading in metroid prime 2 for it. he and the clerk agreed that that prime was deadly dull and had intolerable controls. i nearly violated my policy of not speaking needlessly in a gamestop by saying: "word, holmes." which would have violated all sorts of policies, really. but i held my tongue. and for a moment my faith in the good sense of gamers was renewed. then the next guy in line traded mgs3 in for nfsu2. :/

I seriously doubt that, nice subtle troll though. Resident Evil 4 is the type of game you ship in good numbers, because word of mouth is going to do wonders for this game!
 
Well I couldn't find it anywhere in downtown Vancouver until yesterday. Everything sold out, I don't know if that's because of small shipments or popularity or what.

I'm sure the game will see a sales boost when other magazine reviews come in too. GMR had the exclusive, and that was only available to the subscribers, so it's likely there are plenty of people who don't know quite how good the game is yet.
 
Capcom will ship 1.8 million copies of Resident Evil 4 world wide, according to Yahoo Finance. The gore-ridden title is set for a winter release over in North America- and will be undoubtedly sell by the bucket load due to the immense hype surrounding the game. Coupled with the second Resident Evil movie- set for an autumn release in North America- Capcom are looking forward to a profit-filled year. Also of note, is that although 1.8 million seems a lot for a shipment of games- in fact it's not as impressive as first impressions would imply, as the original's remake and Resident Evil Zero have both sold around about 1 million copies each.

That news is a year old though, they could have changed since then I suppose. Also it's worldwide, but even given that it seems unlikely that North America only got 300,000 or whatever.
 
Well those bastards at the Futureshop in Gloucester (in Ottawa) didn't stock enough copies of the game or something because it was sold ot. And I was going to pick it up from there too because it was cheaper than everywhere else.

I might just pick it up at Bestbuy and hopefully I will get a free REmake copy with the game.
 
Yesterday, I went to my local Best Buy around 10 AM to get the MGS3 limited artbook, and there were about 15-20 copies there. When I went back with a friend, around 6 or 7, there were 3.

Is that good?
 
when I bought RE4 there was someone in front of me that was buying it as well

by this I assume te game will sell millions
 
I'm primarily an Xbox player with a GC, but I hope it sales like crazy. Anything thats good for the industry. Can't let bias get in the way of the fact that some guys in a studio probably slaved over this game trying to make it the best they could. Hope Xbox gets a version.
 
I stopped by work to pick up my schedule and someone picked up their preorder, and someone else picked up a copy of the game (they hadn't preordered). We had over 30 preorders. It was asked about more than Xbox/PS2/DS shipments the day before they arrived. That's all I've seen about the game.
 
It's not hard to find the game here in montreal but chances are, you'll need to go to a few stores before you get a copy.. that's rare here. futureshop.ca was sold out earlier
 
in Fry's it's selling pretty well, when I get there, there's only a few copies left on the shelf. They probably got some more back there, but that's another story.

I'll laugh so hard if RE4 out sells Mercenaries, Mercenaries is out on 2 consoles and one of them is PS2 the console with the largest market share. And RE4 is only out on GC.
