Yeah, I owned Cybercore. I'm just baffled why anyone would put it on any list. It's kinda...well...forgettable. Despite playing it recently I don't remember it at all, aside from the bug theme. I think shooters comprise 50% of the PCE library, and I'd probably put Cybercore towards the bottom of that 50%. I'd rather play Steam Hearts.
I was kinda disappointed with Progear at first, too, but that's cuz I'd spent years hyping myself up for it. I really dug it once the scoring clicked, but Espgaluda's gimmick is pretty similar and better. I think if I'd played Progear first I would've enjoyed it a lot more. Not that I didn't love it. It just didn't rocket to the top of the pops like I expected it would. Has my favorite Cave art, though. It is hard, but I found it easier than a lot of horizontals for some reason. I'm just really, really bad at them for the most part.
Battle Garegga's a game I really wanna like, but everytime I try it I just end up irritated. Again, I think my opinion might be different if I could play it properly (TATE'd on a big screen) as I've totally flip flopped on games by doing that before, but that ain't happenin' anytime soon.
I'm praying Cave announces an Ibara port soon. Mushihime would also be nice, but a new Raizing-esque game has me all excited.
I just used MAME for the first time in almost a year. Tried out Raiden Fighters Jet, and it seemed quite good. I discovered a fairy! Then I felt dirty for playing on an emulator and went to play with my cab. I'm a no good snob.
What's that really fast, bullet crazy Famicom game? Is it Recca? That's pretty cool. Ain't better than Gradius V but worth playing to see the Fami do shit you wouldn't think possible.
