Post your favorite garage developers!

I'm not a huge fan of their other games, but Gish from Chronic Logic is great. The demo doesn't do it justice, the levels in the main game are much better.

Other than that, Lexaloffle is probably my favourite. Zen Puzzle Garden is truly amazing, probably the best sand raking puzzle game I've ever played! ^_^

I really ought to finish my own homegrown game (see avatar)...

My vote's gotta go for Longbow Digital Arts, simply because they made my favorite PC game of all time, Treadmarks.

Seriously, if you've never tried Treadmarks before, do so now. If nothing else, it has one of the most satisfying nuclear explosion effects I've seen in a game.

I've actually been meaning to make a thread praising Treadmarks (again) for some time now... It really was one of those titles that got severly overlooked due to lack of hype and the inability for people to handle something new.

I imagine it IS their day jobs by this point. I think they take in enough money on merch sales.

They were on G4TV a while back. They did a little feature on the game. There's 3 of them working on Homestar, that is their job. They do make money on it, but their not rich or anything. Still live in an apartment. They are huge Nintendo fans. Guy says they play their GC all the time. Has 4 wavebirds.

Kenta Cho - ABA Games

Makes shooters with abstract, Rez-style graphics and catchy electronica soundtracks... games are about a 4-5 meg download each but are really cool, especially if you like the Cave-style bullet hell games and if you like Rez. My favorite game on the list is rRootage - though it gets nearly impossible by the time you get to the 8th level :P

Heh, I always liked the concept of Tumiki Fighters, but never liked how a single hit knocked off every ship you had collected. Your post reminded me to check the page for TF, and lo and behold, there's a new version out that corrects that very problem.

The game is MUCH more enjoyable now, and it actually makes collecting a bunch of ships worthwhile, as they build up a nice shield.

I figured. And I didn't say they were rich, I said they were probably supporting themselves doing it.
