Most people know about the most popular ones like Tabbrowser Extensions and Adblock, but I'm more curious about the smaller ones that fill a niche need that you guys like.

Me, I just found a *great* new extension for searching called Context Search 0.2. I have long loved the "Search Web For..." context feature, but with this nifty little extension it adds all your search bar engines to the list. Just a handy little feature for lazy ppl like me who love the search bar and love the context menu.

Now I just have to figure out how to get rid of the search engines I don't want... hate how they added Amazon and shit like that. :\

I made a thread about it earlier. My 'favorite' is Homeland Security Threat Level. Hilarious.

I'm going to have to find that QuickNote one, sounds useful.

For real though, Image Zoom, Translate and Weatherfox are excellent. I really like the latter, which shows weather information in the status bar.

Thanks, I just installed it. I'll come back later with some more cool extensions and links. For now, I'm off to see Sideways :)

searchbox autoupdater is awesome. whenever you search at google.com it updates the searchbar in google.

"dict word" is good enough for me.

I like WeatherFox that someone just recommended last night,

What happened to the themes on the mozilla page? They've all disapeared.
Theres an official gmail notifier now that sits in your system tray so I dont use that extension anymore, but I havnt been able to update a lot of the extensions for firefox 1.0 so far.

My systray is crowed already, plus my browser is always open.

Flashget is?

One extension that sounded interesting and I've got is called Launchy. Supposed to be able to right-click on links and be able to tell it which specific program you'd like it to open in. However, I wasn't able to get its promised customizability to work, so it only gives options for opening in a few default programs.

I also like Add Bookmark Here. In every folder/subfolder of your Bookmarks, there's the "Add Bookmark Here" command added to the bottom. A bit quicker and more intuitive than going to Bookmark This Page and then bringing up a separate window with options for where to put it.

That weather extension ("ForecastFox" is what they call it now on the extension pages, not WeatherFox) is awesome. Great suggestion Dan. :)

What program do you use to photoshop a picture?
I just installed firefox 1.0 from 1.0PR and now websites that contain wmv can't be viewed along with real player streams. Someone help me!

Ah, I see. They haven't updated it yet, but yeah, something about copyright issues. Definitely one of the simpler but most informative extensions that I've found.

DerBrowserTimer seems handy. More functional and a better interface than other alarm/timer programs I've found. It'll be better when they add support for other audio formats besides WAV though.

I'll just say that it appeals to me greatly that a now open source product (thanks to some 'genius' mismanagement within Time Warner) is owning the hell out of the flagship products of Microsoft and Apple. Neither IE nor Safari are even close to Firefox.... makes me very happy.
