POSTAL 4: No Regerts
The POSTAL Dude is back! Several years have passed since the events that devastate
We don't talk about 3. 3 Never happened.Never played 3 but loved 2
Enough people because Postal 2, besides its disparaging shock value, offered a living, open world. You could see NPC's do shopping, or kill a cop, and they would react accordingly. For its time, it was really interactive.Who plays this shit?
Exactly.Postal 2 was actually revolutionary for 17 year old me, I could spend hours just running around and be entertained by pressing T.
Who plays this shit?
As someone who loved the Postal series for years from Postal, Postal 2, Apocalypse Weekend, all the mods (Eternal Damnation, AWP, etc..) and actively anticipated Postal 3, and still enjoyed it as much as I could despite being a broken pile of shit....Postal 4 fucking sucks.
It's a visually inconsistent technical mess. It hurts to look at, it feels incredibly jank compared to Postal 2, characters and world art seem to clash, it feels like a chore to play instead of a game that lets you approach things however you like...for a company that spends a large amount of time shit talking Postal 3 at least that game had a consistent art style. There's nothing redeeming about Postal 4, and this isn't a "this game is in poor taste" thing - it's a piece of shit title. There's nothing that'll have you grinning like the previous Postal games, the deepest depths of comedy is a running joke about a bidet store because of a toilet paper shortage. It's fucking stupid.
They made a game that is so poorly developed that the art looks worse than the low budget Postal 3 title from 2011 that was shoved out unfinished and had RWS completely divorce themselves from.
For the sake of fair comparison, both of these screenshots are from the official Steam pages and are as the company advertises:

I didn't touch 3 as it wasn't handled with the same care as the other games. Janky care of course, lol. But this one seems more like a return to form, I got it in Early Access and thought I'd wait until it released to play it. Glad to know the time is coming so soon! Was 3 ever worth playing? Loved Postal 2. Hope they have some good comedy in here.
This Postal 4 No Regerts review from Travis Northup takes a cloers look at the gameplay, and issues with the game at launch. Frequent crashes plague Postal 4 as Running With Scissors continues on with the same humor the series is known for, but with little direction in terms of story.
Developer Running With Scissors describes Postal 4 as a sequel to "the worst game ever," Postal 2 - If the goal was to make one that's even worse then that's certainly been achieved, but that Postal 4 review gag doesn't mean it's ever fun to actually play.
