TORRANCE, Calif., September 3, 2004 - Tecmo and Xbox Live announced today that their online tournament for Ninja Gaiden, the Master Ninja Tournament (MNT), has broken records once again with its second tournament in the series. The second tournament, ending earlier this week, became the reining champion of online tournaments by having the highest number of registrants through xbox.com for an online tournament in the history of Xbox Live. Beating out the MNT¹s first tournament, the second tournament had over 1,000 more registrants than its predecessor. Using the new and challenging Ninja Gaiden downloadable, Hurricane Pack: Volume I, as a platform for the second tournament increased interest in the gaming community with thousands of gamers posting their Karma scores on the worldwide leader board by the end of the tournament.

"We are thrilled that with each round of the Master Ninja Tournament we hold, we continue to break records with registration and participation," John Inada, Tecmo¹s General Manager, said. "We now look forward to the worldwide finals at the Tokyo Game Show and the third leg of the Master Ninja Tournament. The first and second tournaments, as well as the Hurricane Pack: Volume I were just the tip of the iceberg for Ninja Gaiden."

For more information on the Master Ninja Tournament and Hurricane Pack: Volume I check out www.masterninjatournament.com Announcements of the winners of the second tournament as well as information on future tournaments in the series will be forthcoming.

About Ninja Gaiden

One of Tecmo¹s most treasured franchises is given new life in a whole new action-packed Ninja Gaiden. The player takes on the role of the powerful and mysterious ninja, Ryu Hayabusa, who seeks revenge after his clan is massacred by the Vigor Empire.

Boasting 100% action, Ninja Gaiden allows the player to unleash their inner ninja with smooth game play, speedy battle sequences, and a variety of advanced acrobatic ninja moves from running and flipping off walls to hanging and swinging on rails. The player also has a variety of primary and secondary weapons at their disposal that when used in a combination, create advanced weapon attacks such as damaging wall-based assaults and all-powerful ultimate attacks. Xbox? Live Compatibility, a host of challenging levels and visually exquisite environments are just a few more reasons why Ninja Gaiden raises the bar in the action gaming genre.

Ninja Gaiden is available now at all retail outlets where video games are sold, with a suggested retail price of $49.99 and an ESRB rating of Mature. Gamers can order Ninja Gaiden at Tecmo¹s website (http://www.tecmoinc.com). For additional information on the game, visit the official Ninja Gaiden website (www.ninjagaidengame.com)
