Prey E3 Video

It looks boring and repetative. Once you have gone through your 100th portal, and viewed the dull black walls and bright green neon glow textures for the millionth time, all will be left is another FPS, all novelty will be dead, because they havent taken a series of novelties and applied one to each section, they have taken a series of novelties and stretched it over the span of the entire game. Once you have played an hour of it, you've played it all.

I watched the whole movie through and they showed us several differant sections of the game. It all looked the same to me, I was bored to death.

From what i've seen of the game, though the art direction leaves much to be desired, the actual gameply looks to be pretty impresive. I love how they play with the idea of gravity and the portals are interesting although rather erratic. We'll see how it goes when more details of the game are released.
Clearly 3DRealms haven't been resting on their laurels, only question in my mind is....Where the fuck is DNF?

nice find golem.

Is this the same Prey that was announced like 10 years ago?

Yep.

It was canned, but 3dR, never one to let a good ip die(or see the light of day, for that matter....dnf anyone?) brought it back from the dead. :lol

Heh, even I heard about it over a year ago and I'm not connected to the industry in any way. Surprised that it looks so good, though. Might actually have to keep an eye on this one.

So who said the D3 engine couldn't do outdoor or bright scenes? :lol

Graphics aside, the level designs look eons ahead of Doom games. Kinda deminds me of Duke in that regard, especially that one level they show with the small moon and fighting in shuttles.

Just watched the vid. Looks damn good to me. Hard to mistake this game for Doom 3 now. I like some of the gameplay nuances I noticed in the demo. The portal system looks cool. The different style of levels mixed between the portals seems interesting. I like how you can bring forth some sort of spirit to help you out in battle and puzzles. I also noticed that you have time to save your physical being after you perish. Definitely keeping an eye on this.

Alright, that definately escapes the "Doom 3 expansion pack" jabs. The enemy design is kinda generic but the portals and outdoor environments look awesome, as do the weapons. The machine assembling that tiled cube looks pretty interesting too. Between this and "Quake Wars" it looks like Quake 4 isn't gonna be worth picking up.
