Yeah, one of my WTF situations because i also poctured him with a cig in-game. Comics even mention him hating the fact he can't get drunk or harm himself while smoking cause his augs start cleaning his system right away. Which contradicta with the game cause you can get drunk.

Keep your original releases. Always. This kind of stuff will only increase in time. This is why a digital-only future is bad. They will just keep retouching these things, censoring and pulling episodes, etc. With physical media, you always have an OG backup.

Streaming is convenient, but don't rely on it long term. If there is media you cherish, treat it as any enthusiast or collector would. If it is music, get the original CD or vinyl release, listen to it on a nice record player. If it games, find the original hardware and software, do the necessary maintenance, and play vintage.

You cannot rely on the ever-centralizing mega companies to archive their past work for them. That is the job of consumer enthusiasts. If this is a "crime" at all to you, then start collecting.

I think this is absolutely gonna happen. A lot of older films are virtually all white because they were filmed in areas with a virtually all white talent pool, not because the artistic vision mandated it. So adjusting it tactfully is ok in my book(*), though I imagine SAG would have something to say about replacing actors versus augmenting a scene with additional extras.

* I think that 95% of the time this will be cringe and pathetic pandering, but there can be good uses for it.
