It's time for the wolves of war to awaken. Cygames presents a new action RPG for the PlayStation 4.

Project Awakening is a weird case. Announced back in 2016 for PC and PS4, it created a lot of hype with how much marvelous it felt graphically back then. Developers saying it's going to be quite revolutionary. But for the past ten years, there hasn't been a peep about this game.

Last time I heard, the devs back in 2024 were saying the game wasn't cancelled and more info would be shared in the coming months, only to be met with more radio silence. Now, I know that CyGames was focused in GranBlue Fantasy Relink, and now that Granblue released (and is getting DLC), I was hoping for more news for awakening. Nothing.

So I started to think that the game is vaporware.

That said - I had the same impression about Crimson Desert (showing nothing for years and years up until the last couple of years where it showed more and more, and now it's getting released in a week), and I am hoping I'll be wrong again and the game will release.

Anyone else remembers about this game?

(Jesus Christ, ten years since it was announced ...)

Like Deep Down, it's absolutely canceled, whatever Cygames say. If the project ever sees the light of day, I doubt it will be anything like what they showed.

Sometimes I'll still just be randomly reminded that Deep Down was a thing. Same with Beyond Good and Evil 2.

Game has been changed to Eve Frontier and by the looks of it looks nothing like Project Awakening.

Reminds me of Rockstar's Agent game.

The game was never formally cancelled. Instead, Rockstar let the trademark expire in 2018, nine years after it was revealed.
