Definately Katamari Damancy. Pure gaming heaven for a mere double sawbuck.

On the horror/adventure front, Silent Hill 2 is still the best of the series. Fatal Frame was phenomenal, even if it was saddled with truly godawful boxart. I hear great things about FF2, but haven't gotten to it yet myself.

And, if you enjoy being abused, there's always Gradius V. It hurts so good, but, man, does it ever hurt.

The third game is coming out next month, but the other two are $40 together, and I recommend you play them in that order. Very fun platformer/action games.

Kinda hard to list without any RPGs... But the Nippon Ichi games are all good at the very least (strategy RPGs).

Avoid the Jak games like the plague.

Backing up some suggestions that have already been made:

Ratchet & Clank is a nifty platformer, and R&C:GC is one of my favorite games this generation.

Zone of the Enders and ZoE: The 2nd Runner are very well done and can be picked up on the cheap.

Katamai Damacy is a no-brainer. Not a lot of depth, but what's there is ridiculously fun.

What are the chances of Sega releasing Final Tuned for the PS2 here and not with the tainted GH cover?

Silent Hill 3 (picked it up today for $20 at TRU)
The Document of Metal Gear Solid 2 (waiting to arrive...)
Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner (should arrive this week, maybe tomorrow)

I will get Twisted Metal: Black (no one recommended it yet?) and Tekken Tag Tournament if I can find non-GH copies. As you can tell I do not really like GH covers.

Hmmm, is Xenosaga worth $30 CAN?
