PS2 SFIII question

Is this just a port of the DC version? From what I understand, the DC version has frames of animation missing... anyone know if the PS2 version is the same?

The graphics and controls are supposedly better. It's not a port of the DC version. It's just a shame they couldn't include NG and 2I in the collection. Either that, or make the old stages usable in VS mode and randomly swap them out in single player (ie sometimes you get Gill's 3S stage, other times its 2I, others its NG).

first revision????????? why?
Beacuse it's the most widespread version.

At least the PS2 version seems to be more faithful visually (correct sprite sizes, full animation, closer screen filtering, etc).

Actually the PS2 has both the first and second (DC) revisions available. If for some reason you like the DC music, gameplay and even graphics (resolution anyway) better, you can customize the PS2 version to replicate that as well.

It's a superb port.
