Predicts the worst decade for Sony starting 2022
I let my membership expire about 11 months ago and I do not miss it at all. I am not your typical cod player and Play mostly single player games theses days. That is just me and I was wondering how many PLaystation owners pay the yearly/monthly PS plus subscriptions. It can't be for the shitty games they give out with the occasional decent bone thrown in from time to time. Then I was thinking (I use to subscribe to both xbox live and ps+ yearly) It has become very expensive. It sucks that games I already own like Diabo 4 require it to play.

If I own my console 6 years and become a yearly subsciber:

PS Plus base tier: $80 x 6 = $480 (All that gives me is online play access, their shitty monthly games, and an occasional discount on a game I want to purchase)

Then if I wanted to up the tier and have the PS PLUS Extra: $130 a year x 6 = $780 (Gives access to SOny's library of titles but they rarely add anything new worth wild)

Then if you want the Rectum Probe Premium plan: $160 x 6 = $960 ( adds option to download older Sony catalog)

Damn, when you think about it. Hey I am one guy and maybe you see the value in it. Do you subscribe?

I subscribe to the one that lets me save scum but only for that reason.

That's also the only reason I subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online. To save scum in Hades.

I could never get save scum to work on xbox so I cancel gamepass.

Hades is the best game to save scum on.

No. I only have game pass because I can trade a little time for MS rewards point to get it "for free". As they slowly erode the ability to earn enough points I'll start getting GP only when there is something I specifically want to play.

I think I still have Nintendo online just 'cause it was cheap, but might have dropped it at some point.

Since rejoining the PS fold with PS5 Pro, I've subscribed to Premium for a year. Played a couple of games already. Seems fine so far.

Currently subscribed because I'm playing Monster Hunter world with some friends.
But only got it for 3 months and afterward I probably won't renew.

Not anymore. Used to back during the PS4 years, but I wanted to stop when I got a PS5, then they did some sneaky auto renew thing using the store wallet.

Was for 2 years when the move form Now introduced, got it for about 65 bucks per year iirc, had some games i wanted to try like Demon's Souls (lol me and souls games.. barley lasted an hour), Death Stranding which turned out to be awesome and some other games, it also let me try games like Ghost Recon Breakpoint which i ended really enjoying, all in all was ok, but i did my math and it's not worth it to me at the moment, i have an habit of buying games i like at $30 point, so i missed my chance with R&C Rift Apart and HFW, and with the price of PS Plus it's not worth it to me.
Also i don't play online.

I had stopped using it for a while, but unless you're saving your save data on a flash drive, then you have to have the sub to upload to the cloud. Which was the main reason why I recently resubbed. And some discount on some games.

After PS4 Pro lost a lot of interest. I did sub for premium after getting my Pro. Handful of games I still haven't got too. Last of Us part 1 was fun playthrough on pro.

I'm going to always have at least Essential going forward. I forgot to copy over my game saves before selling my PS5 last year and I didn't have PS+.

I got the cheap tier on sale for a year. I'll let it lapse and resub next year. Nothing beyond that, because even the sale price is ridiculous.

Yes, I've had Extra for a couple of years, but I don't play enough (different) games to justify it anymore, so back to Essential.

Best deal in gaming (for me).

I have the PS Plus Premium for 1 year. But I am going to let it discontinue. The games included are mostly crap and I don't have time for them. But I will keep essential.

Dropped that shit like a sac of potatoes when the hiked prices and stopped selling discounted annual cards. Will never sub again, fuck'em. Unfortunately #gamers are a spineless convictionless lot who will shovel money hand over fist to their favorite sportsball manufacturer.

I had plus active since it started minus a two year period but I let it lapse after the price increase and have no desire to go back to it again.

I don't play online games much, but I do take plenty of advantage of the catalogue and cloud saving is nice to have. Right now I'm playing Dying Light 2 from the catalogue, for example.

That said, I only think it's a good deal up until the extra tier. I don't care much for playing old games or streaming. I still paid for the premium tier this year, because it was relatively cheap and I wanted to check the games. trials feature, mostly.

I also do let my sub expire every year, just in time to resub in black friday. So to me, premium tier cost me $93 this year. I'll likely be degrading to extra next year, but still, for all the games I get to play and try in a whole year, I consider it pretty cheap.

Haven’t subscribed in a long time. I initially upgraded my remaining time to Premium but it was disappointing that I haven’t bothered since.

Why do you need to save scum in Hades tho? The way the game is designed especially its story progression is to actually die not just to reach the surface.

The last year I was signed up to PS Plus and Xbox Live was 2014 before I got into Steam/PC. After that the concept of paying for yearly online felt foreign to me.

I did it now for the month, for a new console. But i am not gonna get it again, it has no value for me.

Yes, every year i buy a year subscription. This year i downgraded to PS+ Essential as im not taking much advantage of PS+ Extra games.
I always resub during the Black Friday promos, so i never paid full price for a PS+ sub. The Essential Tier has a 20% discount so it costed me 57€ i think. It ends being less than 5€ a month, so its a good value for me as some months thers games i like to add to my library and they never expire once added like the PS+ Extra ones.

subbed to premium because it got rolled into it once the tiers came out. Then dropped to essential and will go back to premium once I get a portal.

I voted Hell Yeah but I'm probably going to let it lapse when it expires in March. I don't really play much multiplayer on console (The only multiplayer game I actually play is Battlefield on PC, and FFXIV on PS5 but that doesn't require PS+).

The games are nice but I can't actually tell you the last time I launched a PS+ title and really played it. Some of the classics I intend to play but don't and most of the PS1 titles I already owned on PS3/Vita so I wouldn't need PS+ anyways.

Off and on. I had a year of the top tier when it first released and after I played everything I could I let it lapse. After that I get a month here and there.

Begrudgingly. I believe the value is not what it used to be but it is still there. The reason I dislike subscribing is I feel like I am supporting saves behind a paywall. IMO that is one of the worst examples of extorting customers.

I'm big on subscrition services. Been subbed to PSPlus since it was PSNow, GP, Switch online, Geforce, etc etc. Love it all

What’s the point in knowing what everyone else is doing? If you personally don’t find value in it (which it sounds like you don’t), then don’t subscribe.

Nope. No point in having multiple subs. I was maintaining Essential for a while but dropped that too.

I have subbed to PS+ since buying my PS4. Upgraded to extra as soon as they announced the tiers. I get really good value from it. I don't what people expect from it, its never gonna be a day one AAA game service.

I could see if you buy a lot of Day 1 games that this would not be a good thing for you, for me its excellent.

I do, and it is because I play some games online that require it. Never been huge on having subscriptions, and if I had the choice, would probably not subscribe just for online play. I like that we get monthly games with essential which makes it a bit easier to swallow that we have to pay to play online and the discounts also help.

I tried the higher tier but didn't find myself playing games via the sub often enough. Same thing with Game Pass, so downgraded the PS Plus and unsubscribed from Game Pass Ultimate (more like let it expire, but again, if I am not using it to play the games on it, then what's the point?). I will just buy what I want to play.
