PSA: check the rope before you get yeeted

I remember watching a documentary about a veteran camera/photographer man who had seen all kinds of horrific shit, been to all wars and such. His way of coping with what he was seeing through the lens was just that, through the lens - a barrier to what was happening infront of him. I suspect those looking through the camera were getting that same kind of disconnect from what is happening infront of them. There is clearly no rope tied to her, yet the visuals they are filming are not filtering through their 5 senses, like they are dislocated from the actions playing out, and the danger doesn't even register through their phones.

There is a horrific video from a very experienced parachuter who, after several jumps that day, leaped out of a plane, sans parachute, and falls to his death.

So shit can happen to the best of us, more so when engaging in high risk behavior.

Gotta be fake as fuck, there's no way that happened, those things are so fucking regulated with safety out the wazzoo and multiple failsake checks, so you're saying out of a team of 3 they harnessed her and didn't go through any checks to make sure the rope is attached, it's attached properly, her harness is on tight.. nah they just picked her up and yeeted her??

is it? looks primitive as fuck and a way for poor people to get money from tourists.
how much do these people pay them to yeet them off the side of the bridge?

Lack of professionalism. It can be anywhere with anything, but holy shit, there was at least three guys there and didn't check the stuff?! They not only will never work with this, but put a stain on others that does this (which are a lot) and chances are that politics already are somehow capitalizing

I have a friend that knew the girl. She posted a message and stuff. Sad day for her family

Given that the "company" was intentionally structured and located to avoid oversight, its owners, even if not present for the accident, should face criminal charges, because that is what enabled this mistake.

I've been wanting to go skydiving for ages, or try one of those swings that really lift you up. To feel like I'm in the "Gravity Rush."

But now that I see these accidents, I wouldn't do it for anything.

You can even get injured doing those things.

I watch a lot of real violence/gore on the internet.

I can't stop laughing at the video. The way the two guys casually chuck the lady overboard and then they both look back at the rope behind them at the same time. The comedic timing is incredible.

Also there's like 10 people there and nobody is like "yo wait a minute you forgot something".

This.

I've listened to Opie and Anthony too much, my mind went straight to this clip

I couldn't find it to share, but two days ago there was clip of someone recording from the street into a home where they were arguing with the people inside.

The people inside started firing a gun blindly out the window at the person holding the recording phone, and the recording person WOULD NOT RUN AWAY. They kept filming and took a few steps back. Meanwhile every gunshot made me wince. Absolutely mental idiots all of them.

Criminal imho.

Negligent homicide charge for the people running the shit.

Karma for anyone who watched from the bridge, saw what was happening and intentionally kept their mouth shut.

What is the benefit of being thrown off? Why not allow a person to jump themselves?

This is awful. Condolences to the family.

I remember watching on TV many years ago about a camera man who filmed skydivers. Did thousands of jumps.
Then one day he forgot to put his chute on, and jumped out after everyone else. He realized after he jumped that he forgot to put his chute on, and filmed his death all the way down. He spoke calmly knowing he was going to die. That's been tattooed on my brain ever since.
