I got a second PSP sold my other one last year anyways... it has a silver spot that doesnt change color and you can see it when it is turned off is that a dead pixel, dust under the screen or is it just another random screen imperfection?

I've got 5 dead pixels scattered randomely on my PSP, including one very blatent one smack in the middle. But I certainly can't see any of them when it is off.

I believe if its black, its a dead pixel. If its a permanent colour (like say, red) its a stuck pixel. And you would be able to fix that by running a video clip that flashes different colours rapidly for an extended period.

I dropped my PSP on the floor the other day. BAM! I got a dead pixel in the right corner. Just my luck

Or it could have no effect at all or actually make the problem worse (personal + anecdotal experience). Two of my yellow stuck pixels that I hardly ever see were turned into burgundy ones that are always seen after running that video. I'm not the only one this has happened to. Then there are all the people who have had no change at all. I'm sure it works for some, but it's definitely not something you can count on.
