These are screenshots of an emulator that has been taking all of my
spare time lately.
(by the way there is a few more shots in there, should take some time
and make somekinda site for this..)

And it's currently showing quite a bit of progress.

puzzle bobble is completely playable at around 5-8 FPS..
mercury almost get's in game..
and ridge racers stops some time after the state shown above..

Basically it's just an allegrex/fpu/vfpu interpreter, with native mode library
implementations.. HLE like.. =)

Thanks to you guys, i've been able to do all this!

Some audio functions have been done, and quite a lot of 3D stuff done..
All rendering is currently done in software.
I really think it's enough for now..

Currently i'm cleaning up the code abit, and trying to fix all those remaining bugs..
Not really sure if i should give it out, because it runs some commercial games(as seen above)
in addition to most of the homebrew stuff around.

Bit afraid of sony really.. =)

Anyway, Miles to go before i sleep..

PSP on PC:

PSP emulator - CHECK!
PC requirements - CHECK!
People actually willing to play those PSP games - Uh. I'll get back to you on that.

From where do you get the idea that the PSP has poor games? It had one of the best launches ever, for christs sake. Of course, there hasn't been a whole lot released beyond that... :P

wtf, the PSP scene is moving at a speed that's never existed before. :o

If HLE-style emulators came out, would that spark piracy even further?

I don't quite understand it myself, really. I know I'm the "hardcore gamer collector-freak" type, but I currently own 19 games for my PSP, and it's not like I just buy everything released, crap or not. It took me far longer to get that many games for the DC, PS2, GBA, Xbox, and GC when they first launched.

But yes, I can just see the quotes now:

"I can't wait to play the PSP emulated on my PSP so I can use the PSP emulators!!!1111" :D

What are the PC requirements to play this emu? PSP specs are rather low, it can't be too hard to emulate.

Now I can play PSP games without recharging the battery every hour
Now I can play PSP games without dead pixels

People were complaining that there was no console version of Lumines or Wipeout Pure at launch. Two games alone I'd want if I had no PSP.

But...! The SNES emulators are slow! And if you clock the cpu to over 266 it'll explode!

True, but if you have 2 3DFX in SLI, you can unlock the unlimited power of GLIDE and breaze at 60FPS on all PSP games.

I don't remember how closely related the PSP and PS2 are, but if the PSP/PC emulation is on then why not a PS2/PC emulation too?

The PS2 IS more powerful and MUCH more complex. The PSP is a more friendly environment to work with and more closely matches a PC in its design. The PS2 is more akin to the Saturn. Why have there never been any really good Saturn emulators? ONE came somewhat close, but it still had a lot of problems and did nothing to enhance anything.

PS2 is just too different. All current PS2 emulators run very little and what little DOES run, runs VERY VERY slowly.

No, the PSP is a very different architecture than the PS2. No EE, GS, or derivative of either is used in the PSP.

::sigh::...at last I can play Ridge Racers on the big screen with a NeGcon :)

Actually, that IS a good reason for the emulator! Since it is 3D, high resolutions shouldn't be a problem (though the HUD might suffer). I hope for your sake that they perfect this emulator. It pains me to know that you had to miss out on such an awesome Ridge game. The handling was a bit easier than usual, but damn, the rest of the game was so amazing.

Have you played it yet?

Yep... it's actually more like a scaled down GameCube than anything.

maybe you should click the link and read the thread. Also he's not really coding it to play ISO's more of a homebrew project and any games that do run will run wih pure luck

Wario what's the current status on this?

Sweet. So now we can emulate the PSP and play old NES games (via a PSP emulator) on our PCs!
I'm not even saying anything here. Just wanted to juxtapose.

Jesus, stop repeatedly bumping old threads unless you're going to add something relevant to the topic (take a look at the "Guitar Hero Rocks!" thread for a good example). Take it to PM, the official PSP topic, or maybe do a bit of research on your own. (Hint: I found this link in the first post, which is where Wario got his information. Why don't you ask them? - http://forums.ps2dev.org/viewtopic.php?t=2650)

The bumping got old a long, long time ago, and the next time you needlessly do it will be your last.
