Used to listen to a lot of this stuff a long time ago. Astral Projection is probably my favourite, and you already posted that.
This whole record is great, but the final track is my fav. Used to listen to this before falling asleep.

What the hell is psytrance? I love the name but man I'm getting too old. First time I ever heard of this genre.

It's not that you are getting old I think but it's that it's not really a mainstream genre. I'm sure you can find better descriptions but I'll try to explain in my own words.
So goatrance which is at least 30 years old is a subgenre of trance originating in Goa, an Indian island where they were experimenting with psychedelic music and having trippy parties on beaches etc. Since the beginning it's a very progressive genre, if you can think of something than it can be shaped into this genre. As it was changing always what we have today is rather called psytrance and the main differentiating factor is for me that goa is more analog and organic sounding while psytrance is more digital and scifi. If you check the videos in this topic, Astral Projection is goa, while I would say Electric Universe is more like psytrance. The BPM can vary between very slow to insanely fast. Well, I think the songs linked in this topic speak for themselves, check them out to have a better picture.

that first song with it's video is sick. The John 00 Fleming song is exactly my kind of psytrance, I know him but didn't know this one, awesome. And the other two breakbeat songs are also good.

good ones, Btw Imo Astrix is the absolute top of this genre. That man is something else, what he does is art.

astral projection that takes me back, listened to that back in high school, listening to it now sounds dated. which is ironic since now i listen to mostly retrowave, vaporwave and 80s music.

I attend parties nowadays very frequently because all the biggest names and my favorites are coming to my country one after the other. Last week was GMS and it was one of the best ones ever since they were among the first I heard in the genre more than 10 years ago and I thought I would never hear it live after Bansi's death. But Riktam came and made an insane party. There is nothing like a psytrance party, I can't even imagine anymore going to a mainstream disco.
