It's called King of The Servers. You play dm style and you gain exp. for frags, and receive points for weapon, player, and power upgrades. Not totally balanced but it's fun and addictive. There's a lot of different play styles depending on witch upgrade path you take.

Quite a lot of people still play and a new US server just went up. They have two US servers, one central and one eastcoast. And about four UK servers for anyone over there.

No download for mod, all client side but will probably have to download some maps if you don't have them.

It's all about Leper Q2 man. Limbs can get shot off and you have to crawl on your bloody stumps TOTALLY AWESOME DUDE! No seriously, this mod is hilarious :lol

Night Hunters is cool as well - total darkness, 1 powerful, fast and agile predator with nightvision vs marines. Quite intense.

Q2 was home to my favourite FPS mods.... Quake 3 was a crashing universe size disappointment in comparision. Loki's Minions CTF.....Chaos DM....might have to rumble through my installation discs to see if I still have Q2.

Sounds kind of interesting. Is there any reason why it is a Quake 2 mod? Seems like you would want to do this for a more recent game, if you want your mod to get any attention.

Come to think of it, will Q2 still run properly under WinXP?

I have win2k so I think it should run on XP.

KOTs is pretty old and went through a lot of changes. I used to play it when it first came out and you had to go to a web site to upgrade and buy stuff for you character. As for not having the mod for newer games, I don't know, I took a long break from this and don't keep up with the community. Probably just a matter of them not having time or just noone hasn't plain coded it yet. The guy that did this mod is taking a break as far as I know.

Never tried Leaper but Night Hunters was fun for a while. Mostly played Jailbreak and RA2.
