I am playing the Quake IV demo and seeing how there are already used copies being sold at discounted prices I was giving it some thought.
Reading the Quake IV PC version thread, I think it was either Shompola or Dark1x that pointed out how, unless modified in the .cfg file, even at the highest graphical settings the flashlight itself would NOT cause objects to cast shadows while the other level lights would. In the PC version it is possible though, through a configuration edit it was said, to enable shadows generation if the light being occluded was the flash-light.
I do not know if it was changed in the final version, but in the demo (XBOX 360 version) the flashlight does not seem to be casting any shadows at all either.
Is the XBOX 360 version not only suffering frame-rate wise compared to much less powerful PC's, but not even able to keep the highest possible graphical features found in the PC version (if it did I would forgive them the frame-rate being <= 30 fps) ?
Another bit of help, could someone post a screen-shot of Quake II running on XBOX 360 and talk about how much it was enhanced over the original version ?
