Quantic Dream released Fahrenheit 20 years ago

Indigo Prophecy in the US.

20th anniversary is this month. Its up there with my favorite PS2 games. I remember my brother lending it from a friend and I didn't know much about it. It has one of the best openings of any game. I had to replay that many times just to see the different ways it could go. The story did get worse near the end but it was like Matrix version of The Fugitive. Its still my favorite Quantic Dream game.

Can't forget this song:

Its available digitally on PS4/5 and PC.

Really enjoyed the game in 2005 on PC. But barely remember it. I mostly just remember that it completely goes off the rails towards the end.

Another quantic dream "banger".

The weird sex scene and plot going into the shitter is the only thing i remember.

I remember the game started great but somehow went to south halfway through when the hero start to do The Matrix nonsense.

I only played this a few years ago and the the first half absolutely blew me away. Way ahead of it's time.
I don't remember it all that well but I do remember the first half being amazing and then thinking 'wtf is going on here' during the second half. I played the absolute shit out of the demo when it came out.

The first half was amazing, the second half was absolutely retarded. I fucking laughed when you started flying and shit. Heavy Rain suffered the same issues. Beyond Two Souls and Detroit Become Human are their best work, with the latter being amazing.

I think if I ran my mind for the worst game I ever played this is it.

A buddy at the time was praising this game to heaven and back so I picked it up.

We are no longer friends.

My teenage brain loved this game so much.
I'm afraid to play it again since I fear it would completely shatter my rose tinted glasses.

Also, can I say how much I miss music of the likes of Theory of a Deadman, Nickelback and pop rock in general being popular in mainstream media?
RE4 Remake's credits teleported me to simpler times due to the style of music that was used.

I haven't played Detroit yet. Beyond Two Souls is very good but I didn't enjoy Heavy Rain as much. One reason could be that I played it after Beyond so it felt a bit dated.

I loved the second half and how batshit insane it was. When your ambitiousness is exploding, atleast you don't get safe company products.

Also, this company still stuck on its star wars? Really should have made your own IP than popular American IP

I played it s year after it came out and i liked the beginning of it but MY GOD did david cage went of the deep end in later parts

Actual epilepsy shizo simulator.

I remember playing it on PC back then. I remember thinking the story was super engaging and cool but I also remember the game ended kinda abrubtly without a sense of resolution/catharsis, as if the game was part 1 of 2. I don't remember much of the story today but I remember being sort of pissed back then xD

This take might be crazy but I had the same feeling I felt when I experienced Metal Gear Solid for the first time. Not in the gameplay department of course, but in the cinematic storytelling.

The combination of the narration, camera and background musical score resonated like a film.

RIP to Angelo Badalamenti, it boggles my mind why there haven't been more Video Game directors utilizing this guy's talent. I would of loved to experience a Resident Evil or Silent Hill with him doing the score.

Absolutely incredible game at the time, it really felt like a whole new frontier of gaming was opening up. Unfortunately it was never delivered on but we have still gotten some great cinematic choose your own adventure style games.

That first chapter was insane, I remember playing the demo of it over and over and over trying to find every little thing you could change.

They had you playing 2 different characters. One trying to get away with a murder he didn't really commit and the other the detective trying to catch him. Playing chicken and egg with yourself was very unique.

Has anyone played the remastered version on PC? I tried it years ago but wasn't sure about the art style change. I think you can still change to the original by pressing some button.

This had the best memory card save icon

The first hour of this game was awesome. A cringe weird garbage after that. A similar feeling to be playing a modern Kojima game.

I remember playing the demo and being blown away, so I picked up the full game on release day. And the game peaked in the opening section where the demo took place anyway lol

It's hard to deny that some of Cage's writing is just strange, but it's also hard to deny that he and Quantic Dream really tried to push this format ever since Fahrenheit, also with top tier production values.
It's about time we get their new game or at least a new trailer. :-(

Great game, you can technically criticize how nuts the story gets as the set up is so good, but at least it was memorable.

I'm already getting tired of that "wait, 20 years ago already?" feeling and it's not getting any better from here.
