when xbox3 and ps4 roll out will they launch the same time? or is sony going to have a 4-year system like xbox to release at the same time? or vise-versa is xbox3 going to have a 6 year system? is it that MS thinking in the 6th year they will have a extra year of revenue like ps2 will have? will the ps3 be downsized because they only have four years at market? does any of this make sense uther then me?

Sure we can speculate all we want (and we love speculating) but no one knows, not even Sony or Microsoft.

Okay...say hypothetically PS3 doesn't come out until a year after Xb2. Now what if MS decides to have another short generation, and releases a new system in 4 years, but sony waits the typical 5 years, so they're 2 years behind. Now when the Xbox 3 and PS4 come out, they do the same thing. So will the PS5 launch at the same time as the Xbox4 giving the PS4 a 2 year lifespan?

I know its speculation but I'm really curious. I think sony is being doomed here.

I can't tell if you're being serious. I hope you're being sarcastic. But if not, let me just say that there's no way Microsoft wants to consistently keep the generation this short for them. Everytime they have to go out early it takes more R&D earlier and less time to capatilize on the current system they have out.
