I remember when Yamauchi retired some sort of fund or incubator was created to help new companies with original ideas... what ever happened to this? I think both Skip and Genious Sonority were born out of this fund... any other companies? Which games were developed by these companies (outside Giftpia and Chibi Robo)? Are these companies 3rd or 2nd parties? What are they up to? Any info is appreciated.

Yep, done by Game Designer Studios (AKA "Square find a loophole so they can finally get off Wonderswan and do the GBA games that they wanted to do for years").

Fund Q was just a front. You could call it "fund squenix" now. With Enix in charge there less under sony's thumb now... I wonder if the whole fund even exists anymore.

I thought several companies used "Fund Q" -- the idea was to help finance development of a game via a low interest loan, with the provision that the game featured GC/GBA link capability.
