Question for the CompSci/Software dudes

I used to, but not very much. Just to test out a few things I would think of randomly. Then I got sick of CS altogether, so I changed over to business. Then I guess I got sick of college altogether, 'cause then I dropped out.

I crap around sometimes, but only so I can be "ahead of the pack" in my classes and labs. It pays off and I usually leave early after helping people.

I do but I absolutely HATE programming. I do like seeing results, especially game related results (graphics and audio related). So I do some DX stuff, OpenGL stuff, just coz I can.

yes I no

I like coding in my spare time. And if I can get myself to do it I actually enjoy it. The problem is motivation. Not just for programming. To do anythign constructive I require a deadline and pressure and stress to get it done. I wish I spent more of my free time coding and learning maya on my own but instead I just end up reading or playing video games or browsing gaf. The one way I've managed to do some neat stuff is apply things I want to do for school.

Hence, my gba project atm for my software engineering class.

I'm getting out of coding as a profession because it saps all the fun out of it for me. So no, but only because I stopped finding it fun. The goal is to find the fun in it again when I don't *have* to do it anymore.

I design in my head more than I code. I often think about problems or how to solve a particular design issue at the weirdest times.

I just switched from Computer Science to International Business this year. I'm enjoying it a lot more (financing, accounting, and so on). I didn't particularly mind coding, although the whole scene was getting a tad boring. But college CS people are pretty much my least favorite kind of people.

I code for work and school. I do very little coding in my spare time (what spare time?) but my work does allow me a large degree of freedom, I can mess around for a few hours trying different things.

Not really much anymore. My free time coding is for the research that is required for school. I also had a volunteer position that required me to code a lot and that was a great way to learn new things and stay motivated.

Well I do code in my spare when I'm motivated and if I'm *extremely* bored (mostly proofs of concepts for certain design architectures that I consider from time to time). However, for the business that I'm hoping to get off the ground shortly, I'm gonna have to code quite a bit in my spare time since I have a day job. Hopefully I can motivate myself to do it in a reasonable period of time.

Why do you ask?

Also, aren't you the guy in the lab on internship in Toronto? If so, how are things going out there. I told one of my friends you were coming, but he said he hasn't seen/heard any new interns (well, new back then).
