Question for those that played GT4 and Forza

A friend said that the new Forza blows away GT4 graphically. (Screenshots, some IGN comparison movie, whatever.) My question for those that played both is...is it that big of a difference in motion while playing them? Just wondering.

Admiral Ackbar has played both and has drawn up this comparison screen shot.

Yes GT4 looks much better imo. GT4 runs at a smooth lifelike 60fps with a better color pallet while Forza runs a choppy, blurry 30fps with a more desaturated color pallet. Forza supposedly has FSAA but it has as nearly as much jaggies and shimmer. Forza's 15fps reflections and texture pop up is not too pleasant. Forza does have greater track detail with trackside objects having more goemetry.

Which is why all the reviews have rated Forza the better game. Dream on son...

Your trolls were so much more palatable when you were pretending to "give Forza a chance."

I have both games, they both look great, Forza looks nicer all around and GT4 has a better frame rate. DIE DIE DIE!

I was speaking soley about the graphics comparison. Gameplaywise I would agree that Forza is a must own. GT4 + DFP = Forza + Live.

I agree with this.

A couple of extra points:
- GT4 also has better car color palette, but Forza isn't too shabby at all.
- GT4 has pretty bad flickering issues as well. Not as bad as GT3 though.
- GT4 supports 1080i which makes it look much sharper and reduces the flickering.
- Forza's environmental detail is better than GT4's.

Both games look great, but imo (I'm not in the band of people that HAS to have 60 fps,) Forza does look better.

Well on my HDTV, GT4 looks better. It's more vivid and lifelike. Forza seems washed out, giving it a boring look overall.

Forza is more washed out. But boring does not mean lesser graphics.

So the answer is no. Both games have there graphical qualitys and both look pretty special.

Well try getting using decent leads and setting your tv up properly.

They both look good. If there's a real difference it's in GT4's flawless replays, and on that subject photo mode is pretty slick.

But on the road Forza exposes a few gaps in GT4's physics -- namely the traction modeling.

But GT4 has DFP and it's a spot better then the Forza wheel (which I got and is pretty good itself)

But Forza has Live

But . . .

Just get whichever you want; you'll enjoy either.
