Emphasis on the quickest way to create please?

I got one day to translate a 50minute video from scratch, so I need help...

Anyone got a good program for me to use?

Thanks in advance

Subtitle Workshop. Free, really easy to use and it does what it's meant to, nothing else nothing more. Once you've created the subs (for which I normally use SSA format as it allows you to change the font style and colors) you just "burn" them into the video with VirtualDub (you'll have to look for the subtitling plugin for this IIRC) and you're done.

On the preview, whenever I drag in a video it gives an error message.

"unable to load"

How do I create subs from scratch,

I type in the thing at the bottom then how do I add my next line of dialog?
