I've been starting to enjoy these types of games.

How is this one? Is it as good as other shooters like Gradius V and Bangai-O?

Also is it a rare game and how much does it usually go for?

R-Type Delta is arguably as good as Gradius V, perhaps better. (I prefer Gradius V, but only slightly, and I might change my mind the next time I play R-Type Delta).

It's much better than R-Type Final, at any rate.

R-type delta is great. I really wish it ran smoother (theres quite a lot of slowdown) but its definitely worth getting if you like shmups. The R-type series as a whole is fantastc. I like R-Type 1 and R-Type final the best.

Thats crazy how the game is older than her. I cant beleive its been so long since I picked the game up.

hehe.. actually the boy likes it much better then my nes and snes.. which i think is wierd.. ive tried him to like super mario bros etc, but he loves crash instead =D

Incredible game. Definitely the best shmup last gen and perhaps even the best ever. R-Type 3 is still my personal favorite though...

Its too bad Irem has no interest in shooters anymore.

Final's unlockables are nice, but there are too many dead spaces in its stages.

Delta is being re-released in the UK around Christmas time as a budget title. Not sure about the US though.

well... what I like about R-type Delta is that from level 2 on, every level I beat I first thought the next one was the final level, cause it was soo brutal. But eventually you gather the skill and beat them and it's exhilarating.

I kinda prefer the power-up system in R-Type a little better than Gradius'. When 3 or so power-ups you're full. So when you die it's not that bad for you, plus there's usually a power-up right from your restart point. In gradius you're almost completely useless when you restart (can't even concentrate a power shot) and you have to collect a *bunch* of power-ups before you feel you're well armed.
