I originally posted about this in another thread but I recently played this and loved it so much I wanted to let people know that it exists as it's definitely a pretty niche game especially in the west.
I recently booted this up on my PS2/CRT and lost like 8 hours playing it. Up until about 3 months ago this was JP only, but it's not been almost entirely translated into English and while I'm not going to post the link it's pretty easy to find the translated ISO.
This is basically a Gran Turismo type game but made by the studio Genki. Genki is one of my favorite devs and responsible for the Shutokou Battle series which is known as Tokyo Xtreme Racer in the west, as well as the Wangan Midnight games. They also released a not-TxR TxR game called Import Tuner Challenge on the 360. They recently announced as well that the Tokyo Xtreme Racer series was coming back on PC which is super exciting for me.
One of the things I really love about it outside of the actual gameplay is the car list. The game has a lot of more unknown JDM cars that really only games like GT ever included (Toyota Chaser, Nissan March, Honda Beat, Honda Accord Euro R, and even JP only minivans) which as a huge JDM fan makes me super happy.
I wanted to shout out this video as it's directly from the guy who did all of the work.
