Radiant Silvergun for Nintendo DS?!!?!?

Has Treasure ever been know to port it's older games? Would it be possible to port Radiant Silvergun to DS or would the fact that Sega Saturn used multiple processors muck things up? But then again, doesn't DS use two processors(or maybe not in the same way Saturn used it's multiple processors)?

If they cut out the speech and that long anime intro, I think it might be possible! :)

... is there any basis to this, or have you just pulled it entirely out of your ass to mislead us into clicking on the thead?

What would be the point of putting it on DS if things would need to be cut? Why would it need two screens (unless you're playing it in widescreen or something?)

Misleading? What are you talking about? I see question marks at the end of the thread.

And exclamation marks, making it seem like you're reacting to some news, not pulling it out of your ass.

and even if the ds could handle the game, i wouldn't want to navigate such dense bullet swarms on such a tiny screen.

Did you miss the exclamation points, somehow?

????? = question
?!?!?! = disbelief at a statement of fact

Sorry, you fail life.

Ok, OK. Next time I will put one "?" and one "?" only for people jump to conclusions on reading a thread title that asks a question obviously. :)

No, no, no.

For a thread title, that'd tell me you'd have some half-reason/half-rumor to believe it to be possible.

"RS for DS?" = you've read something from 2ch or the like.
"Should there be RS for DS?" = wishful thinking thread which I know to avoid until it hits 2 pages.

Why? There's no market for Radiant Silvergun anywhere, so why port it to the DS?
I really wish this was true. eBay premiums for this game are still high, right?
I'm still somewhat hoping the game could finally see a stateside release somehow so that the non-hardcore crowd could realize what a thoroughly average game it is.

If people bought up Mario 1 for GBA, time pretty sure they will buy up RS for DS.

You could play across two screens! :D

Uh... What? Yes, people buying the first game in a series featuring a video game icon definitely guarantees that people will buy a port of an obscure Japanese arcade shooter! Go you!

Fair enough. But given the fact that just a couple of minutes ago a ton of people wanted to hang up on a flag pole by my boxers; the hardcore shooter fanbase would be there for such a game. And I wouldn't call RS "obscure" given the fact that it's still regarded as the greatest shooter of all time even to this day.

OMG: Game Shows DS. Press Your Luck, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy (Touch Screen Keyboard).

A little off-topic, but that would rock.

...which is the point exactly. The 2D Arcade-style shooter's current popularity is the issue.

it's not even good wishful thinking. radiant silvergun is wholly unsuited to ds. and preemptively, i'd hate to see the imaginary touchscreen control contortions sin and punishment would need. and by "hate to see" i mean "laugh at."

the best treasure on ds idea i've heard, from sporks i think, is stretch panic ds. someone mentioned in chat yesterday that the best thing on ds right now is the mario 64 title screen. and that doesn't have any boobies in it at all. stretch panic ds would be so overwhelmingly rad that i'd buy a ds for it.

Hit this sucker with the ban stick! He needs a week at least to think about all the heartrates he raised with this ridiculous post!

Regarded by who? The 5,000 people in America who played it? I think you're overestimating its market worth because a bunch of importers jumped on its bandwagon. You could tell Joe Blow that RS is the best vertical shooter ever, and he'd probably ask if there were Nazis in it. No one cares about vertical shooters anymore. I'd take a port, PSP or DS, but you act like it's a great, untapped product. Not true at all.

The cool thing about the SM64DS's title screen, however, is that you can DRAW boobies on it. I drew a wiener, then keep stretching it and shrinking it with the stylus. It was fucking rad, I tell you.

Buying a DS and the game would only be marginally more expensive than buying the actual Saturn game. Still, it wouldn't make ME buy the console since I've played and finished the game already.

Bah! Damn you! :lol

Well... without starting another thread, how about the first Diablo game being ported to DS? There was a Diablo port on PSOne that took advantage of PSOne's tech (you could see the reflection of your character in the river. That wasn't in the PC version. :) ).
Diablo is total point-and-click interface. Wouldn't DS able to handle that seeing as how it's supposed to be as powerful as N64, which is supposed to be more powerful than PSOne, right. :)

PSP would be good for vertical shooters (if you rotate it), but DS wouldn't. What was that horizontal shooter where you could control a plane or a jeep? I think it was SWIV or something. That would be cool on the DS - two players over wireless, one controls the plane the other controls the jeep, both on separate screens, but gameplay linked. Could be fun. I also agree that the Stretch Panic idea is perfect for DS, but more content would be needed - it's short enough as it is.

PSP is utterly perfect for your horizontal-shooting Gradiuses, Dariuses and Rtypes, as long as the bullet hell is kept to a minimum. What kind of control scheme would work if you TATE'd the PSP anyway?

Dpad=movement, analogue=fire, like a wonderswan?

This thread sucks.

And DS is OBVIOUSLY a better choice for vertical shooters. It has two screens one on top of the other. You know, vertically. PSP is obviously the better choice for horizontal shooters due to its widescreen.

EDIT: And TATEing the PSP is one of the crappiest ideas I've ever heard. That would be a bitch to control.

Sounds pretty hell-all uncomfortable, but that huge and gorgeous screen would make it tolerable. Too bad the DS screens are segmented.

Wow yet another of these threads!

[insert cult game here] should come out on [insert new console here]

The PSP screen isn't some miracle that alleviates all ills. :p

I thought the segmented screens would be a problem for types of games like vertical shooters, too, until I saw the short intro video to Metroid Hunters in person (which uses both screens to give a vertical shot of Samus' body). Your eyes just automatically fill in the gap.

Banning isnt severe enough, we need to chemically castrate this bastard to make sure his spawn dont ruin our childrens lives by posting misleading topics. Do it for the children.
